Ooh, also well done to EsoChomp for Wigan & Griggs.

No idea what we had at what price, but I expect we did the full up/down/middle routine.

 win or lose

TfT has won about £1,000 net on Wigan (£1360 gross - covers and a handicap bet)

Grigg wins or not next week, won't be settled today

If Grimsby get third in the conference, there is an e/w double with Wigan to come too

Any truth in the rumour tikay is cancelling his staking for this year? Or that he's going the other way and will be having a table at XS?

Stormy Atlantic 2000 guineas 8/1 with hills 50 e/w pls.  Will explain in a bit

its 1/5 the odds 12 runners

everyone else is 1/4 the odds

Hills retrenching post cheltenham

do you want to go somewhere else?

No.  I knew the terms.  Stormy Antarctic obv.

The horse is the only one to run well this year, has a liking for softish ground.  Because of that the place price must be value.  Fwiw both win and place beat betfair because of the shape of the race.  The favourite is supposedly wearing a tongue strap first time which must be a worry.  Pricewise came out for it last night, but I was always backing it at this price even before that.

I note b365 had matched.  Meh.  Think I have done enough for thread on that score.  Hills are still a good price and we should take it.

I have also backed Galileo Gold at 14/1 e/w.

Maybe we should have backed two

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

Really? Oh dear. I only know of it as it was next door to the old & much missed Caesars Palace cardroom, & I used to observe the queues to get in whilst we were on break.

I thought the Cardroom had been closed down to allow PURE to expand?

I tried to be street, & failed.

Never mind, see you at EDC I guess, Mark.

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/thirsk/14:45/winner

Hugh Taylor put up interesting points in his column today and has put up two. Best trip and orions bow both from low draws. Traditionally high draws are a massive advantage at thirsk over sprint trips, as Hugh says today last week the reverse was true and low numbers held sway. Now that could be a one off but if it isn't there could be an angle.

I quite like kommander kirkup at 50s  (66s sportsbook) 10 each way. Drawn in the one box.

John Davies used to be an owner with Michael dods and has now gone alone last few years. He has done ok but the small number he has had run this turf season have all gone well.

The horse has horrid form figures but since a 2 year old he has been inconsistent. Finally the mark is back below the last winning one and Phil Dennis is a much improved claimer.

Horse could be gone e.t.c and if draw does reverse to the norm won't have much chance anyway.

I am willing to take a small  chance at 50s.

If anyone could get me a tenner each way personally at 66s with sportsbook  I'd appreciate it.

Worth reading again.

I'm purring.

Think it was closed to expand for a new club, or some form of entertainment, but not 100%.

The closest I'll get to EDC this summer, is remembering to take all my vitamins in the morning!

HOW MUCH?

Jeez, £1,000 from chompy's Wigan, & £550 from horsey, all within a few hours.

Might be Fred's most profitable day ever.

Lovely stuff, & thanks lads.
