Frankel and Noble Mission double today worth anything, GGExperts?
Forget the Brownlees, these are the best brothers in sport
That'd be a pretty rare occurence, I'd think - full brothers winning on the same card.
The Dam - "Kind" - who was not much good on the track, must be worth an absolute fortune.
bit harsh on kind there tikay a genuine listed class beast with a 6-13 race record
i wouldnt mind owning a few like that
on another point frankel aside the york card is not exactly appealing
Maybe, yes, 6/13, including a five timer, but you don't expect horses like Frankel to come out of a mare who's best effort was at Hamilton. Just my personal view, but I'd not describe here as a "beast" except in the literal sense!
It's all about opinion - I think today's York card is a cracker. I rarely go Racing these days, but my last visit was to York, & I really wish I could be there today.
Kind is currently with foal, having been covered again by Gailileo. So there is another brother or sister on the way...
Noble mission is second favourite today and Frankel in his race is only - yes only - 2-13, which looks lovely tbh

Wonder what that foal or filly foal would fetch at auction?!

Frankel's owner is of course Khalid Abdullah, Prince Khalid Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul-Rahman Al Saud to his mates
Already a billionaire when he purchased a 1,000-acre estate in Kent
They then found Oil on the site there too
Which seems a bit like overkill really
Outgeeked, but there's a fact back for you.

Oh, absolutely!
John Hislop's great "Brigadier Gerard" was out of a very unfashionable mare, too, it is often the case with great racehorses, but you can never "expect" such an outcome.
Put the best, to the best, if you want to breed the best
is the rule, but it is the exceptions that prove it.
It must be THE nut feeling in horseracing to breed a good horse, see it born, train on, & win good races.

I could have sworn that Fraser stuck a tip up for Swansea to beat West Ham this weekend, but I can't find it to save my life.
I wanted to comment on it, but I can't find it now.
Apologies to Fraser.
Morning Tony
I was trying to modify it last night but must of deleted it
My recomended bet was Swansea to beat West Ham at the weekend
Swansea looked well organised and goal hungry against QPR last weekend whilst West Ham ( who looked light up front and defensively) just sneaked past a bad Villa side
Bodog are best at 23-20 but 11-10 is still big at Chandlers in my opinion so £100 is the investment

Thanks Fraser. I thought I was going mad!
I need some comments from others on that selection though. I don't know enough about it to comment myself.
It would need to be quite exceptional value for me to invest £100 though, I'm holding back on Football - exceptionals apart - until things settle down.
What price do you
think
Swansea should be? Is there some team news that makes 11/10 good value?
At 11/10, it makes West Ham nearly 3/1, if Swansea were, say, 5/6, West Ham would surely be value @ 7/2 or better, no?
Not dissing your tip at all, but for £100 on Football at this stage of the season, it has to be a bit special. You know me, I'm a nit....
PS - Was grand to share tables with you on Friday @ DTD. I do need to flip better though!

Hi Fraser
I think the way the game played at QPR suited Swansea perfectly, set up on the counter, QPR came on to them and got torn to pieces
I doubt West Ham will be coming on in the same way down at Swansea
No doubt Swansea were under-estimated pre-season, but West Ham will certainly be more organised than QPR who played like a bunch of strangers. Which they are at this stage.
I am not sure why they are described as light up front and defensively either
Carlton Cole, George McCartney, Ricardo Vaz Te and James Collins are no one's idea of Messi and Cannavaro, but they are certainly capable of helping West Ham play to a style to go to places and nick a point or two
In general, outside the top Premiership sides, I think going against trends and looking for mean reversion is key. Most of the teams expected to finish bottom half are going to end up with 45-55 points, 40 if they go down, 60 if they do an upside surprise . A team has a result one week, look to oppose them the next. Conversely QPR get done last week, market over-reacts, just as likely to get a result next week etc
Personally, I think 11/10 Swansea's about right. I don't see any mis-pricing there.
Cheers

Feel you have let us down with your trivia. The JCT600 one feels a bit circular. The number plate is "coincidentally" the initials of Jack Tordoff, which by coincidence is the same name as the business he owns. I don't think wikipedia is your friend here.
I haven't spent nearly enough research time as on baby duties, but I assume Yorkshire Carnegie's origins are the same as Leeds Carnegie. They are part owned by Leeds metropolitan university, which has a Carnegie building. You come across Carnegie buildings worldwide, and most have their origins with Andrew Carnegie. But I am sure you knew that!
Just to keep on topic, surely the best time to bet on football is early, before the books settle and the form is known by all. I am not a big football better btw, just seems it should be the best time to get value.

Indeed it was nice to share a table...although only brief
As I said at DTD I didnt see any bet last weekend and dont like to recomend "willy nilly " but to me this one stands out mainly because I dont rate West Ham and Swansea are a well organised side that can score goals (especially at home)
I think any price over evens is decent as Im sure West Ham are vulnerable and will get found out this season on more than one occasion
As regards the selection..put it to the masses(no doubt Keith will have an opinion with Swansea having beat QPR)

JCT600? My badly made trivia (or was it trivial) point was that it is a very unusual name for a business - "JCT600" - & I genuinely believe it emenated from the car reg. And anyway, Wiki said so......
Carnegie? I know all about the Great Man, but I never realised the connection.
Early season football bets. Yup, there is some splendid value around. The problem is identifying it. Last Saturday was Xmas Day for the bookies, they made an absolute
fortune
, & most of those results were pretty much unpredictable.
If only we knew more peeps who could find football bets at 5/1, like Chelsea v Barca......

Hi Rich
Difference of opinion here , as in my view the 4 players youve named are Championship standard and the rest not must better...still I admit any combo on their day is capable of mounting a stiff resistance ,I just see it as a season long strategy to oppose West ham at the right price

I am not saying that it doesn't come from the car reg, just that the car reg was probably chosen for its initials and because JCT1 wasn't readily available. Jack Tordoff saved Bradford City at one time, and his conpany sponsored them until a few years ago.
Don't look at me for great football bets, I was on the wrong side of last weekend's 5-0 too!

Me too, I burned £25 on that. I promised myself I'd keep Fred away from such bets on the opening day, but I did a fail. 5-0!

My first tip on here. I really fancy 2 home bankers in the lower leagues so I'm going to tip up a double:
League 1: Notts Co v Walsall
Notts Co have started well, winning 3-2 at Crewe on the opening day and following up with a 2-0 win over Hartlepool. Walsall on the other hand suffered a poor home reverse to Doncaster first up before recovering to get a 1-1 point at limited Oldham last night. County are 5/6 with the high street bookies but I am hoping for evens when Betfair have the game up.
League 2: Oxford v Plymouth
Oxford have sprinted out of the blocks winning 2-0 at fancied Bristol Rovers before beating and equally fancied Southend by the same scoreline at home last night. Plymouth started by losing 0-2 to an Aldershot team who were beaten at home themselves last night and then managed a 0-0 draw at Dagenham last night. Oxford are 4/5 with the bookies.
My recommendation is a double on Notts Co and Oxford and I expect them both to win with something to spare. Both teams will be aware of the benefits of a strong start after watching the promotion battles for their divisions from upper midtable last year. They know a 9 point 100% start sends out a real message.
With B365 a £100 stake gives a total return of £330. I am hoping for even better with Befair.
