Regarding Henderson, tempted to also back 2 or more goals from him at a flashy price. The hornets back line could be all over the place against Wood and Hendo tonight.
Also Fred should consider overs, as Watford will score on their home current form.

I quite like the Boro bet made by Ant by the way. I don't like the Palace bet though as I think Ipswich will be a different team under Mick so a watching brief for me.

The Middlesbrough bet is real tricky.......being a Forest fan, Millwall came at the weekend with a game plan to stop us from playing and it was noticeable that they were all big f***ers.
I think we will do better against teams that open up and play a bit. Can't see Boro beating us tonight, gl with it though.
Confirmed horrible league with everyone beating everyone.
What's with all the Palace love in at the moment?

I am rooting for you Mr Ant but I do prefer the Boro bet over the Palace simply in terms of value. Not sure I could back any team at odds on in that division.
As regards Mr Murray I think I have suggested betting against Murray twice and both bets have been losers. I think you will notice from my tips that I tend to go against the favourites as I look for value. As he is nearly always favourite to win his matches then it will be rare that I ever tip him to win. It is nothing personal towards him or our northern neighbours. I actually backed him myself to win the Olympics. I think he is capable of playing dire matches as well as starting off slowly which gives us great opportunities. But for ditherage we would have won yesterday even with Mr Murray going on to win the game.
Just to back up my lack of bias I did suggest that Scotland to beat England in last years rugby match was a good bet- and they really should have done. If anything I am biased against English teams, especially their footballers, who are over rated, overpaid, weirdly bouffanted spitroasters.
I think I had better have another coffee !

There is no "Palace love in" as such, but Ant is a self-confessed Palace fanatic, & admits he has a bias for them. All quite understandable, but miost of us neutrals are on the fence, if we sense perceived value, we will back therm, if we don't, we wont. At present the general concensus is that their price is about right - so Fred will not be betting, unless, that is, others come along & show that their price is ool.
It's all good debate.

Don't remind me!
My finger was poised when our man was 1.5, & greed took over, I thought I'd wait a tad longer. Half an hour later he was 30.

The Murray thing.
There is no great pro or anti Murray thing here.
I don't know the exact Murray starts for the thread, but in Tennis, we have placed 26 bets in total, which came to £926, & we got about £800 back, so we are about £126 down overall.
We don't have many Tennis Tipsters, but I think we more often than not oppose the jollies.

So it was Tikay playing the tipster not ditherage that cost us. That is so much worse.

Whatever happened to the guy who was superb at in-play betting on Tennis? I remember him coming back a couple of months ago?

He wasn't.

He ran away with our money.

Absolutely, but when it comes to betting, even the most loyal fans surely have to be sensible when it comes to the Championship. It's a real tough league to call, especially this year.
I hope the bet wins......just not the Middlesbrough part!
FWIW I like the look of AFC Telford to beat Ebbsfleet at slightly better than EVS. It's 9th v 22nd, not value but looks a good shout for a win to me.

I'm quite fascinated by the impact of new managers in Football
We have a player on loan at Ipswich. He did his cruciate in April and by the time he was coming back to fitness in September the team had moved on, players had come and gone and he wasn't going to get in the first team
He was called into the managers office and given a list of teams he could go on loan to. He chose the only Championship team, Ipswich
So he's played 9 or 10 games there and third hand (a friend of a friend is a friend, so whilst it might be apochryphal, I have no reason to doubt it) reports come back that the players openly disrespected Jewell. They'd mimic him to his face in training. There was no discipline. People knew he was on the way out and coasted
Of course it shouldn't be that way, but groups of young guys can behave in unusual ways and peer pressure can be a strange thing, whether that's football or not
So, Jewell gets sacked and in comes a noted taskmaster, Mick McCarthy. Hey presto, they win their first game
In the after match media stuff, where the manager stands in the tunnel in front of a media board and everyone gets a couple of minutes for the football highlights shows, local press etc McCarthy said
- They played with unbelievable spirit
- I told them that if they'd played like that and given as much effort over the last two months then I wouldn't be here
- First thing to do is get off the bottom but there is no way we will be down here for long
So, he appears to have had an immediate impact on team psychology. The players know that he's not a man to be messed with and furthermore if he doesn't fancy them then its bad news for them as he's there for a while. Under Jewell, they couldn't give a toss if he liked them or not, he was soon gone. Finally, in public he bigs them up.
Contrast that with Holloway, who takes over a team doing well who played for their previous manager, and over-achieved for him. He leaves them in the lurch and in comes someone else, who doesn't have to change much..but its Holloway and players either love him or don't get him .
Will Palace beat Ipswich? Probably. But I am extremely wary of doing much in situations where one or both managers have changed. You can throw previous form out of the window and suddenly opposing teams like Ipswich, Bolton etc becomes far trickier than it was a fortnight ago....

I didnt think it was anti-murray (lots of love for him here on US Open) and I love Hectors bets, I just thought I would mention as I have noticed it as a fairly unsuccessful pattern. To be fair when I reviewed there had been less bets than I expected only 3 losers to the tune of about £90.
