tikay, can I ask that you refrain from putting the result of my bet on the thread until tomorrow please? It isn't aired here until midnight.

A friend in France informed me The Vendee Round the Globe Yacht race started today, & recommended Jérémie Beyou as a good bet

Chelsea vs Liverpool.

Chelsea are evens with lad broke and hills ( and I'm sure with others).

Following an depth post from tikay, I'm still not sure what makes a bet and this "true odds" scenario.

But the recent theme if Liverpool odds being history driven rather than actual talent/form, this has to be a value bet if the weekend?!

We just come back from a long Russia trip, on Thursday. Chelsea played at home and with a boosting late win.
We don't play we'll at the bridge (unless its dalglish playing or managing)
Terry back after ban will give them presence
We are miles away from them in form, players etc
They really should be comfortable odds on
I'm a Liverpool fan and this is one of the most painful post I've ever done!

Wazzy.

We've had the hint, the nudge, the bit of warmth I was looking for, so lets do it.

We have a rather chunky £50 on Chelsea to beat Livepool at Evens. Quite a big bet all things considered, but my personal view, not usually taken into account (with good reason), swayed it. A 3 goal thriller would do nicely for all sorts of reasons.

Chelsea to beat Liverpool tomorrow, £50 @ Evens with Ladbrokes.

Thank you.

PS - How do you know the pitch looks good? Have you arrived 24 hours early?

A bit of a late bet here Tony. I toyed with putting the 2 bets up I had on the Scots FA cup today, they both had very similar profiles and given he first one has started well it prob adds weight to the second one.

Lets try £60 at 3/4 with Boyles( 8/11 is ok elsewhere)
on Arbroath minus 1 v Inverurie on the traditional hcap ( so we need to win by 2 goals to win)

The thinking is that the underdogs have been over rated in some of these ties after good results in the first games. There is a big gap between a good team in Abroaths div and the Highland league.

This is a replay after last weeks game finished 3-3 but Arbroath were leading that game 3-0 after 66 minutes and got mugged late on, conceding 2 goals after the 86th minute. Since that first game the draw for the next round has been made and the winner now get to play Celtic so I am going to assume that the better team, a short price playing at home will get the job done after their complacency cost them the tie last week.

They were 1/2 in spots to win away last week and are 1/3 in spots to win at home this week so I am taking them minus one on the basic handicap as none of the firms I thought might put out an Asian handicap did as it is a bit obscure. So for this bet to be a winner they need to win by 2 goals or more.

OK, I need to go & grill a souffle, so the Shop is shut for the purposes of placing bets until late this evening.

Good luck with your bets. Soon, we shall be rich beyond our wildest dreams. Or rich-ish.

20 minutes gone at Twickers, only 3 points on the board so far.

Lots of penalties, too.
