Who is the formula 1 guru itt?

I need to have an off thread PM chat with whoever knows most about F1 with a view to recommending a bet (although it could be season long which I guess might put thread off?)

There are several, though as far as I recall, we have only had 2 or 3 winning bets from 14 or 15 attempts, (there may have been others, apologies to them if so), for an overall loss of nearly £300. I recall Doobsy & hector giving us winning F1 bets, though I'm not sure they follow F1 too closely, they just understand the logic & maths of betting, & finding an edge.

We would not necessarily be averse to a season-long bet if it looked good enough.

My advice would be to stick it up here "raw", & then let everyone discuss it. An incredible niumber of people just lurk on the thread, & only Post when certain topics arise.

Tighty has family connections in F1, I believe, & follows F1 avidly.

very good well done

Carlsen was losing at one point against Anand today having played the early middle game very oddly, but like Merlin the Magician got out of it somehow. I am not sure how and I watched it earlier for a while!

Predicting the world number 1 to win a tournament is not exactly hectoresque but praise most gratefully accepted.

He might squeeze this game now to see if he can win it. I prefer his position now. That would be something very special.

Oh to have one's own adjective. Fame of the highest calibre.

By way of consolation, I have a smiley, or emoticon, named after me.

I wish the whole internet was more like Tips for Tikay. I suggested this bet on Twitter and I would bet a substantial number that I have risked more than all of my followers added together. I would also say that they would have to be terrible at staking to have lost following my Sunday NFL tweets.

This week I chose to have some spread bets as I was struggling to get on fixed odds.

I can only agree with the Posts which followed by Camel & redarmi.

The world is full of wise after the event Willies, who only pop their head above the parapet to mock others, it epitomises the internet.

We are, as you say, very fortunate on Fred not to have any malicious aftertimers.

Oh to be adjectivicated, eh? At least an emoticon is some consolation.

Carlsen pressed but it was asking a bit much and he agreed a draw with Anand. Final table looks like this:

Will put something more substantive on Chess Thread when I get time - just doing some prep on my own game for tonight - but suffice it to say Kramnik and Adams can take a lot of positives out of this week.

Fred can now go back to normal service, without being bothered by daily poor imitaition Alan Bennett monologues about wood-pushing.

I can confirm that my F1 knowledge is limited to knowing to use wet weather tyres in the wet. So I guess I do at least know more than Daniel Ricciardo, not that it still irks me some 8 days later.

Fulham haven't scored in 5 hours in the Premiership, Newcastle are getting players back from injury

However since he joined in 2007 Fulham have only won 1 of the 11 games that Hangeland has missed, and he is back tonight. He was a huge loss through suspension and almost tempts me to pop onto Fulham

Is there any betting value in the MNF markets tonight?

I have gone for low corners tonight and I was hoping someone was going to suggest it for Fred.

FWIW - very little given my depth of football knowledge - I think Hangeland is huge in every respect, & his absence has been key in Fulham's recent decline.

His return tonight will, I hope, change things for the better. I've had a long look at the match, & I cannot see, or recognize, any prices that seem out of line.

I looked hard at corners tonight, and if - IF - previous is any guide, low is the way.

Fulham have, in their last 5 home games, averaged 3.6 Fulham corners per home game.

Newcastle last 5 away games have an average of 3 Newcastle corners per game.
