That was a major bounce after the epic v Lee Tomlin imo, a classic case of a class act winning his semi ugly after a lung-burster the night before.

Day off tomorrow and I'd expect we'll see the proper MVG again on Tuesday.

Think he's made a point of getting himself buzzed up for matches this tourney. He seemed a bit subdued coming on when he lost to RvB last month and again tonight. He'll be pumped up again for the final.

Gogogogogogo MVG!

Either way, it's been a great ride, more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Made hard work of that but agree with Chompy he bounced and Wade dragged him down to his level to some extent.

One to go.

For those that want to green up it would be better if he faced Barney, but I honestly think he'd have a better chance if he played Philip.

I think there is a chance Barney will bounce in the final if he wins tonight so for that reason I'm hoping he wins.

It's by no means a nailed on certainty, and the outcome will surely come down to whether or not he wants the job, but if you're quick you can get 6/1 on Sean O'Driscoll to be next Barnsley manager at Bet Victor, which I think represents good value.

They've put a fairly 'standard' market up so far, including Sven and Kevin Keegan!  SkyBet have him at 7/2, Stan James at evens.

Ignore David Flitcroft, who they have as J/F, as he's probably going to turn down the caretaker role this morning (he and Hill are a team, so I don't expect him to stay) and the prices should shorten further.

Also, as an outside candidate if his name appears on the list (he doesn't at the moment), consider a speculative flutter on Jan Aage Fjortoft at an outsider price.  Popular ex-player, done all his coaching badges and has tweeted his interest.

Jan Aage Fjortoft ‏@JanAageFjortoft

My former Club #barnsleyfc sacked the manager today I will call them and say:-I am a Norwegian and I think I will do great in Championsship

Thanks Curtis.

I doubt we've ever got a "Next Manager" bet right yet, but any other views?

PS - Down to 4/1 already. Own up, who lumped a tenner on?

Hmmm, both remaining books BetVictor and SkyBet now have David Flitcroft odds on for the job.  Slightly puzzled as to what's triggered this officially (other than some sizeable action) but it would be an odd appointment to go with the assistant manager who came to the club as Keith Hill's backup and has actually turned down a couple of solo jobs in the time he's been at the club with KH.

SOD had drifted to 14/1 at BV, but as I've typed this they've closed the book too.

Not an encouraging sign from a BFC supporter's point of view, but might be worth watching what happens with these markets in the morning if nothing gets announced.  It would be a very odd appointment, so I remain to be convinced by all this.  If anything like the 14/1 reappears on SOD tomorrow then I'm diving back in.

NB: Just to clarify, all that's happened today is that Flitcroft confirmed that he'd prepare the team for the New Year's Day fixture vs Peterborough (and it took him 24 hours to decide this).  All the club have done is state they'd be commenting on the managerial position later in the week.

Could be a big night for San Fran here, they need to win and Green Bay lose to nick the 2nd seed in the NFC conference and a bye next week and homefield advantage the week after. Should San Fran lose then Seattle can win the Div themselves but they are losing 7-3 at so its going to be a huge 2nd half for those teams now.

San Fran are winning 7-6 at , Green Bay are losing 20-10 so it's up for grabs.

I am not sure this is massive value, but in my opinion it's a little bit of value here, would not price West Brom up at 21/20 at home to Fulham, but that is the general feeling among all the bookies for NYD game.

West Brom, very decent team & Fulham are terrible away team, also in terrible form at the moment would rec this @ £40.

I can't argue with that. I would think West Brom should be odds on.
