When I settle the IDI Series bets in the morning, we have £50 of losses, offset by £70 from the Bell bet, by gherkhin, so that was a bullet dodged.

It was on list

No worries, good luck Doobs
Nothing to stop us pressing if you fancy another £20.
We are lucky to have so many experts here who are happy to share their thinking with the ice cream collective.
If it is OOL, should punt bigger. No harm in putting more down, so long as you credit it to me.

PaddyPower need to be punished for their Ginster-ish mistake in setting an 8/11 shot at Evens again, especially after we took them out and kicked the Evens in the effective semi-final
Not a change Akers is evens in this longest field goal market
Happy to oblige, & we won't tell a soul you nicked it from Doobsy.
We have another £20 @ Evens, Paddy Power, Ravens to have Longest Field Goal, Superbowl.

Murray loses.
hector will find a Rugby Unders now to compensate. Nottingham v Bedford, (televised this afternoon) with the line at around 44.5, is my hunch.
I had a look at this, as I have a passing interest in both
Two very high scoring teams, Bedford in particular play attacking rugby
I wanted to look at conditions though. I believe they play at Notts County, and not sure if the pitch after the weather is up to flinging it around.
Hector?

Yes, it is at Meadow Lane.
No idea if the pitch is OK, but I gather there was plenty of snow in those parts.

Martin Allen made an interesting point at Half Time. Why didn't the keeper by jumping on the ball deny Brentford a goalscoring opportunity?
Chelsea fans sing "we don't care about Rafa and he don't care about us." Bless em

Ben Affleck's Argo is leading the way among the Oscar nominations for best picture - after being named the best film of 2012 at the Producers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills.
He picked up the accolade, which is often a harbinger for the much-coveted Academy Award, with co-producers George Clooney and Grant Heslov.
Argo has already won best dramatic film at the Golden Globes where Affleck was named best director.
The actor also stars in the film, which tells the true story of the daring rescue of six US diplomats from Tehran, under the guise they were working on a fake sci-fi film called Argo.
The joint CIA and Canadian government operation, which began in 1979 and ended early in 1980 during the Iranian Hostage Crisis, became known as the Canadian Caper.
In the past five years, the winner of best film at the Producers Guild Awards has gone on to pick up the Best Picture Oscar.
Those completing the double include The Artist last year, The King's Speech in 2011 and Slumdog Millionaire in 2009.
But Argo will face tough competition from Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, Les Miserables and Zero Dark Thirty at the 85th Academy Awards on February 24, where it is nominated for a total of seven Oscars.
Argo is into 3/1 2nd fav, Lincoln is 2/1
Les Mis? 31/1 We are on at (price available to the brave...)

Slight complication with the reasoning is that this is the first year where the Oscars voting has been done before all the other indicative awards ceremonies have been held.
FWIW, I like Argo's chances for best motion picture. He has a Puncher's chance for director if the current negative vibes towards Lincoln are anything to go by (that it is an out of this world Daniel Day-Lewis and a lot of soppy music but little else of weight). Are you brave enough to bet against Spielberg?
Meanwhile, Spurs have no recognised striker today. Front two of Sigurdssen and Dempsey with John Obika on the bench.

Argo - how much did you have in mind, Rich?
Would be good cover for our Les Mis Banzai.

There is a good chance this has been missed by the firms too, the votes are cast already so it s dubious as to what effect they can have other than s I think Tal himself said when it was brought up earlier in the thread that a good film is a good film.
So it probably says it is viewed as a good film but the other awards cannot now affect the voting going into the Oscars where they could/probably did in the past.
fwiw Argo was one of the best films I saw this year so I hope Rich is right.

I didn't have anything in mind, i merely spotted some news of relevance to your future bets portfolio
Personally, I think its a better film than Lincoln (which is two and a half hours about an amendment to a bill...) though asking it to beat the end of slavery, assasination of a president etc in a US vote contest is stretching it some
I had a typo...Lincoln is 1/2 best not 2/1 best by the way
