I'm no cricket expert, but is the 25/1 Sri Lanka worth a dabble?

Everyone seems to think the wicket is going to deteriorate badly on the final day.. if England have to chase 100+ it might be be a problem maybe?

KP out while I posted this, into 18/1 sigh.

The Cabrera bet that I was mooting on the other thread was in his day 1 threeball with McIlroy and Bubba @ 7/2+.

Incidentally, Cabrera has only ever won two tourneys in the USA, a US Open and a Masters and I was on him in both events from the start. I am also on this week although not at the tasty 240/1 I managed to secure last time.

So it was, apologies.

Thats currently 3/1 Ralph. Still worth a dabble @ that price, you think?

Without checking exactly how many players make the cut, I would guess only 18-20% of the par 3 attempts will be played on Sunday.

Even allowing for the fact the pin positions might be more conducive for hole in ones on Sunday, I would think the Sunday price should be at least 3 times bigger than the any time price before you consider backing it.

http://betting.betfair.com/golf/the-punter/us-masters-betting-hole-in-one-market-2-310312.html

It is top 44 and those within 10 shots that make the cut.

Betfred offer until 2pm only:

http://www.betfred.com/sport?betid=1098233.2&navitems=25.1,46288.2&market-group=1098233.2&action=market-group-list

** If your selection ties (or there is a 3 way tie) Fred will pay you out as a winner at the full odds **

No idea if there is any value there or if they have adjusted their odds accordingly.

Just posted for interest.

Unless they are bringing Murali out of retirement there's no chance Sri Lanka win

Last year's birdies at 16th

round 1 21
round 2 10
round 3  9
round 4  9

top 44 and ties plus anyone within then shots makes the cut, last two years that's been 49 players. With the bad weather forecast it might condense the scoring a little and get more players in under the 10 shot rule in.

They have changed the 16th this year making the back right flag more accessible instead of automatically rolling down the slope too. The problem might be this, if the course is still soft on Sunday then it might make it less likely to get the balls rolling down the slope to the traditional Sunday pin.

just a thought tho

Sri Lanka very big @ 22/23-1on betfair on this track

could be worth a little tickle guys as still 2 days left

They have to get 300+ (180 behind now and get 120 in front) to have a glimmer of a hope

I can't see it, the pitch is low and not easy for anyone (bar KP) to score quickly, so they won't get 300 (120 lead) until day 5 morning, will they bowl out Eng in 2 sessions with this attack?

Can't see it

Main factor in favour of the bet is that England might be inclined to chase any target to try to draw the series.
My money's staying in my pocket though.

What price Sri Lanka to win if they had Anderson/Finn/Swann for the 2 carthorses and Randiv?

That would be an interesting chase of 150

Top research Phil...

I heard Mickleson being interviewed this morning and he claimed that the course is going to play "easier" due to the rain making the greens play slower . He then suggested the course needs to be "attacked" as opposed to cautious play.

My golf guy reckons this could make things a more open market....How do you see it ? and does what Mickleson say potentially affect the hole in one chances ?
