said thai lady it now transpires got to the green side bunker in 2 shots !!!

must have been a hell of a plug

She took an 8 @ the par 5 last, & lost by a shot, & you were on @ 80/1, win only?

Yikes.

Did you select the bet on the basis of that Tweet you mentioned yesterday?

pretty much sums it up

the tweet was out on tuesday it was by no means a big bet but by 8am i had sort of banked the profit

them the breaks i guess and she is 17 and held it together fine. Looks like just one in a million thing having to take a drop from a bunker

Our Bad Beat Bookie Buster Brace of bets are both on ATR, 2.10 Fontwell and 2.20 Towcester.

In the 2.10, Royal Native is currently around 15/2. (Recommended at 10/1).

In the 2.20, Darkestbeforedawn, recommended at 10/1, is around 9/2, so there seems to be a bit of interest.

We shall be somewhere between £80 poorer, or £900 richer, in 10 mins.

Betting is a bit like sex, the anticipation is half the fun, though there is frequently an anti- climax.

Ooooh, we got a proper sweat after the last, and finished 2nd, so a small profit on Part 1, and our EW double remains in play.

Neil did say they were more likely to be place bets rather than likely winners.

Good fun that.

Fantastic work Neil, prices had gone for me but plenty will have got on.

Guy I worked for always used to try doubles/trebles when he had 2 rugby handicaps with the same firm, the overround explanation from Neil was really good. E/W horses are renowned for this too, nasty for accounts though

It's so cold outside and I'm so excited about Oscars that I plan a snooze so I can be all fresh as a daisy.

Normally, obviously I would be out marching round two dozen betting shops on a Sunday morning, (some people go to church, some people go for a stroll around the park before their Sunday lunch).

Anyway, today I can't be bothered. I should though because I have found a couple of good each-way bets. Both races are bad each-way for bookmakers but they may not realise it in both of them. In a world where bookmakers took whatever you offered them without a quibble I would have a decent each-way single on the 1st one I shall mention, a smaller each-way single on the 2nd and a nice each-way double. I would suggest maybe £20 e/w, £10 e/w and £10 e/w for Fred (I realise that adds-up to a bit). These bets should not be welcomed with open-arms and they may result in account closure or restriction, even if they don't win. The double is over 100/1 though so who cares I say.

2.20 Towcester The race is dominated by Cayman Islands which seems a solid favourite. From the current price of around 6/4 on Betfair it could shorten and I wouldn't lay it. It is possible to make the case that these John Ferguson horses are all too short and they need to settle and learn to jump, but this is not one I am massively against. The reason I like the race each-way is the weakness against it.

There are 6 other runners under 100/1. Donald McCain practically said his is a non-trier waiting for handicaps, Henry Daly is a terrible trainer who is overated and his Oyster Shell is typical of his - a plodding chasing type. Otterburn of the Pipe's is a mystery. Of course they lie and cheat but he did say it hasn't been the easiest to train and I could see it being a big drifter. Ballycula has one piece of form when 66/1 in a much better race and doesn't have a solid e/w feel.

That leaves us with Caroline Keeil's Darkestbeforethedawn. Ran it's best race last time at 66/1 and is now down in trip (I have that as a positive, some think of it as a negative), and it has soft ground form.

Could win and will definitely be thereabouts. Great e/w bet at 10/1
with VC and B365 (sadly Hills just cut it).

We only had £10 EW on the Fontwell single, (placed) but £20 EW (Won) on the Towcester horse. And in a stroke, our weekend losses are but a memory.

We may, of course, not done our accounts much good, but so be it.

Thanks Mr C.

No prob.

Hope you all got the lot.

Wish I'd have gone for a nice stroll now.

Just FYI there was a non-runner in the Towcester race (there were 3 actually but one that mattered). You'll have a rule 4 because Oyster Shell didn't go. Didn't see the price (maybe 10/1) so it could be 10p.

The 1st one seemed to get slightly outpaced three out, I thought it was fading out of the frame, and then it really stayed on. Pity he couldn't have had it closer at the 2nd last.
