Wow, what a fantastic race, absolutely wonderful spectacle when two horses give their all, head to head, from 2 or 3 out.

No complaints here, we were beaten on merit.

Don't mind losing in those circumstances,  when we get our money back as a free bet for coming second.

FYP

Ooh, BONUS!

I got so excited watching the race, I clean forgot we won a Free £25 Bet.

Nice one.

It's surely like live poker. You never try to work out your ROI; you just assume you're crushing.

Everyone else is rubbish, so you must be in profit, right?

Works for me.

Note Chompy's signature, under his avatar. I say "note", because he has changed it 4 times in 3 days, different person every time.

The man is a liability.

PAVLOSK in the next, £25 @ 2/1, Free £25 Bet if 2nd.

Think the bet was suggested @ 9/4, but I missed that.

I WILL be getting on Inverness (v Celtic) later, just need to get my head round how to do it, & with whom. Too complicated for me.....
Just seen 5 of Celtics better players are doubtful,  better now than later as price will only go one way.

Maybe feeling a little bruised and by the end of the day will now doubt have a whole carton of eggs on my face, but I notice we have 4 times as much on an unraced horse at an e/w price where we wont even get our money back if it doesn't win, we have also missed all the juicier prices......but not a word.

I appreciate it has come from an Elder, but still.......

It was your suggestion to have £5 EW, if you had suggested more, I'd have bet more.

A little fiver ew at best early odds is probably worth a go

Not really what I am getting at. I am happy at a small interest before everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Its the ratios I am questioning.

I have had a rebuff over a horse I put up when it was a 16 runner field. After a long courtship and study, I finally asked her out, but only for an "ice cream". I'm not too bothered if its liked or not. I put it up because I fancy it, and think it can win based on my earlier synopsis. Very much like Horsey does with his recommends.

Elder hears a whisper on an unraced horse that has halved in price, he takes her out on a blind date, cos someone says she looks tasty, for a nice meal, and its not questioned by anyone.

We all know his will win, mine will come last, but just pointing it out.

Personally think Bobby's should have been bet for more, but he did only rec £20 ew so so be it.
Think you are arguing over nothing here adz, just because you got a bit of negative feedback for backing a horse each way in a 15 runner race(altho sounds like there were 16 when u placed it so ul and plus bad beat didn't seem to like the nag)

Not really fair to compare your 'case' to somebody else's bet and attempt to cast doubts on their reasoning imo.

As it happens, Dom, you've got me there.......

In fact, I DID have £40 EW on it, off-thread, but only wanted £20 EW for Fred for various reasons.

If you look at the Betslip I cut & pasted on the thread, it IS for £40 EW......!

In truth, I do a lot of stuff off-thread with Phil, (I'm sure we all have similar arrangements with mates), & I had £40 EW for myself, then Phil stuck it up on Fred, so I went & had another £20 EW for Fred. Unfortunately, rush rush rush, Misclick Dept etc, I cut & pasted the wrong Betslip. Surprised nobody noticed!

So now you know. Wink

Anyway, the Fred bet remains at £20 EW.

Apols for the confusion.

We were dead a long way out in the 3.05. Another good race though. Nice double for SdS.

Sorry, missed this earlier, wasn't being rude.

Not really bothered about what Neil said, I understand all his points and accept them. No issue.

But I assume your point that Bobbys bet should be more is based on what? The person tipping it? I genuinely don't understand.

You know nothing at all about the horse, apart from 1 person saying they have heard "the right people are on". Its also nothing against Bobby before some of you twist the knife.

I can understand someone putting up a raced horse against a bunch of unraced horses that are drifting but to go large on an unraced horse due to reuptation....quick route the the poor house......and I think most would agree........probably on another day, but still.

If I came on here tipping unraced horse that I had been tipped I would be laughed out of Dodge.

Please explain why you think it should be a bigger bet vs any other bet(I dont mean mine, I mean in general)? I genuinely don't get it.

Thanks

Celtic v Inverness

Celtic are not firing yet. Samaras and Stokes did not train today. They were away in Asia on Tuesday and got turned over in a very big game. They did have plenty possesion so not a greatly harsh 90 minute chase the ball game. The defence continues to look awful

Last season they struggled on some an occasion after a big euro game.

Inverness have played 3 won 3 scoring 6 and not conceding.

Celtic can be layed around 1.59 but unless my maths is off it's better to back Inverness @ 6/1 (13/2 skybet) and back the draw at 7/2 (15/4 skybet) which i think is better and beats betfair although exchanges haven't much turnover on this yet.

For every £10 total stake £6.09 on draw and £3.91 on Inverness returns £17.39 profit if Celtic fail to win.
Sandy

Can someone do me a favour, please?

I can't bet with Sky Bet, so can you reassess the stakes on the best prices elsewhere, please?

Alternatively, a straight Lay on Betfair, if that works better.

Think we'd invest (up to) £50 in total.

Thanks.

Shea Shea in the next, so we are on Mr Dettori.

I note Soul Power is in the field. I was there in the Sky Bet Box, the day he hacked up at 66/1 (?) I think, about 2 years ago? The suits seemed rather pleased, as it crossed the line in total silence.
