It's hard to find info on this but this is from Wiki 'and announced alongside the Player of the Month on the first or second Friday of the following month'. Presumably they do it per game week but MotM for August is catchier.

I am still not sure the extended date is accurate. Wiki is inconclusive. Lets assume it is though
