After passing up my first tip which amazingly won, (as below) I am going for an obscure market.

Janet Yelland to be next US federal reserve Chair.

http://www.oddschecker.com/politics/us-politics/the-next-chairperson-of-the-us-federal-reserve

JY is currently president of the San Fran Fed, and vice-chair of the federal reserve, brilliant and 12/5 with PP. Larry Summers (2/5) is mates with all of Obamas economics advisors so is going to get nominated but there then needs to be a senate vote. The republicans will vote against as he has been proposed by BO, a third of the remaining democrats have already said they want JY as their choice. So there will be a lot of arm twisting and general political skulduggery, so LS may get bumped and JY can get approved as a compromise candidate. The NFP's released today were not great and the revisions even less so, so JY perceived dovishness should make her even more popular ... So

£20 on Janet Yelland for US federal reserve chair with PP at 12/5

http://www.pitpass.com/48789-Roy-the-Boys-betting-guide-to-China

I know the Fred does not run well with F1 betting but above is poker's "Roy the Boy" advising betting on Alonso at 4/1 for China this weekend.

Loads of 4/1 still available http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/chinese-grand-prix/winner

Recommend £30 Alonso win in china with WH.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/23973059

Interesting article on the Olympic hosting bid. Politically & economically the pros & cons for each city seem to add up to a close race, with no stand out "safe" option. Has Madrid got an edge?

http://www.oddschecker.com/olympics/olympics/olympic-individual-specials/2020-olympics/who-will-host

Interesting read. But at the prices, it looks like Istanbul is the one to bet on.

Does anyone have a view on what the Minny at Detroit line might be on the off?

Had some internet troubles yesterday and just catching up with thread.

I would say that if MV/DL moves from the current 4.5 it can only go up. We know that once games are in the 3.5 to 5.5 region we are talking about dead (ish) numbers and it's very easy for them to move on nothing as the bookmakers have way less chance of being middled. The professionals have been very bullish of the Lions on the season wins and bearish of the Vikings. They have reflected this by slightly betting the Lions in this game. With so many good games this week, this looks like an unsexy fixture where the public won't have a big influence betting Minnesota.

I notice that Pinny are now 5 but I think this could very easily go to 5.5 as a general price with 6 and maybe even 6.5 breaking out on Sunday.

If I was betting the Vikings I would definitely wait and imo 6.5 would be way too high and I would take that.

Cheers Neil,

It touched 6 yesterday with one of the Irish firms and it did seem to be moving that way so I held off thinking there would be plenty of 6 around so i might as well see if I could get 6 1/2 later in the week. A bit miffed Pinny are 5 with Minny favoured now.

Been trying to find out whether there's a Rule 4 on the Baldfred Sprint Cup now Reckless Abandon has been withdrawn.

The final decs were made yesterday morning but Boylesports are saying definitely no R4, even now, as they have the race still as an ante-post market. Sounds wrong to me but it's been double checked.

Ladbrokes, as always, is more confused.

The guy on the phone said there may be a Rule 4. He checked with two supervisors. One said 15p, the other said no Rule 4.

So I pinged open the chat box.

Gillian: Welcome to Ladbrokes Live Chat. How may I help you?

Me: hi, I placed a bet on the haydock sprint cup last night, on Gordon Lord Byron

Gillian: Thank you

Me: is there a Rule 4 on the race please?

Gillian: Let me have a look at your account

Gillian: I'm accessing your account now, one moment please

Gillian: I will just check your bet for a Rule 4

Gillian: Please could you provide me with the bet slip number?

Me: 0000XXX

Gillian: Thank you

Gillian: There are currently no Rule 4 for this race.

Me: can you please double check for me

Gillian: I have checked and we have no Rule 4 for this race that takes place at 5.30pm

Gillian: I have double checked with my Manager

So, we've either backed GLB at 7/1 or 5.95/1 (if there's a 15p Rule 4) but we won't find out for sure until after the race. Innit great!? It makes things rather difficult for anyone that wants to trade.

Birkland didn't water the course being used tomorrow. He only watered the far-side course, which is currently 'Soft (watered)'. The stands'-side course is showing as 'good', although it's probably slower than that.

If Gillian could make us aware of the winner at 5.35pm today that would be most helpful

If somebody from Ladbrokes is reading this thread (a good odds on shot) you should be very embarrassed

Ladbrokes slow to react.  Currently biggest GLB (5/1) and Garswood (6/1).  That 6/1 looks particularly generous given the price on Betfair.

Definitely should be a Rule 4.

Whether they are clued up enough to enforce it is anyone's guess.

Ladbrokes amazingly had him at 14-1 when everyone else was 16 or 20.

What a useless bunch of tossers they really are.
