If Alabama play Oregon in the BCS final (in effect, there are lots of bowls but one national championship game) then Mariotta has a real chance as Alabama is a great team with only an average QB

I would let it ride, I just don't think you can cover yourself appropriately or know where the threat is coming from. If you asked a sports fan in the street in the US who Johnny Manziel was this last time year you would have got a lot of blank faces.

I don't think Manziel is the threat tbh, the people who vote for this award will absoutely hate he is off and on the field antics. He has to out perform Mariota massively to get past him. Mariota btw is meant to be a very well mannered, quiet guy, no twitter, no facebook chances of him doing something off/on the field are a long shot.

The BCS official ranking don't start for another few weeks, we only have human polls at the moment. One of which the coaches polls is used along side various computer rankings to decide who play for the national championship.

We need to find a reason to back something other than teams A,B and C are most likely to win.  We also need a good reason to not take the better prices on Betfair.

 20% return on something that we could get better on and locking up part of the roll for 8 months just looks terrible.
