The 2000 Guineas market......
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/newmarket/15:10
It is interesting how much it has moved. Top offer was 2nd favourite at the start of the week. Abtaal is pretty strong considering his draw looks like it could be bad. Allez Soumillion.

Going is Good to soft and leaning towards Good judging by the going stick reading.
Draw won't make any difference and they'll stick on one group in a field of this size. If I owned Ptolemaic I'd want him to go it alone up the far rail from stall 1. The ground is quicker that side by all accounts.

Tonight our horsey will be singing 'Always on my Mind' by the late great Elvis Presley. Don't forget to vote Tikay.

I don't think "Let's back Liverpool because they've been crap all season but football is a funny game" is the analysis this thread needs tbh.
Just because it's the FA Cup final doesn't mean we've got to have a bet.
To be fair that's not the analysis that was given. Somebody said we HAVE to back Chelsea because Liverpool have been crap all season and a couple of people said that could be irrelevant and we think Liverpool will win. Nobody advised a bet on Liverpool. You can have an opinion without advising a bet.
Misquoting seems rife in the thread. A question becomes a definitive statement including capitalisation. You could probably have answered (insert sport) is a funny old game or (insert sport) doesn't always go to form to every post here. Was multitabling last night so couldn't give much reasoning, but to me it seems Liverpool have been fairly consistently too short in the match betting since rafa's last year. Guess we'll see later

Apologies it wasn't meant at a dig at you and my post seems to be misunderstood too. You questioned whether we had to back Chelsea as Liverpool had been shit all year. My reply was not meant to come across as "it's a funny old game" but more "they are regarded as being shit but they've won a cup competition beating two really good teams on their way (including today's opponents) so maybe the bad season can't be applied everywhere as they've again got to another cup final (beating Man U) on the way"
So it's a strange game as despite being poor for most of the season they find themselves a win away from their 2nd trophy rather than it's a strange game so the crap team can win.
I wasn't multi-tabling tho. I'm just lazy and not great at getting my point across obvs.

In today's rugby you
could
back Northamption at 1/100 against Worcester on Bet365.
Seems absurd for a game in the premiership.

HUGE
day ahead!
Barnet (away to Burton) MUST lose, & Hereford (home to Torquay) MUST win. It's that simple. In effect, we have £100 @ 7/1 invested. Boom or bust time, that'd be a lovely bink. Been tremendous fun though, almost the backbone of the thread.
Then there is the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. No "Back Garden Going" reports have been forthcoming for 48 hours, very remiss of you boys, so no idea what the ground is like.
Our interests are.....
Trumpet Major, £25 EW @ 12/1, & £40 @ 14.5.
Abtaal, £15 @ 9/1
French Fifteen, £15 @ 12/1.
Current prices are.....
Trumpet 12/1
Abtaal 7/1
French Fifteen 12/1
The race is at 15.10. We could win a grand, or nothing.......
sorry tikay not been a drop of rain for at least 36hrs have also seen a couple of berets come on the abtaal

Jeff..fancy a little NBA challenge...me the rookie against you the veteran.... Pick one bet a night on any game with odds no lower than 1.76 each talking it in turns to pick first... Each winning bet worth a point..run it up to the NBA finals....
Just for bragging rights or a couple of hundred to make it interesting ?
Yeh am up for it but not sure I'll be online every day as am away from home for a while including a trip to the wilds of Scotland where they struggle with leccy never mind tinterweb. How about predicting the second round series correct scores when they're finalised for now?

Sounds good..although I have a feeling I am giving away a big edge lol... But I'm game if nothing else two hundred for most right, closest for tie break ?

I was in a shitty mood and was a bit too aggressive.
Sorry.
Come on Hereford.

What a great thread, proper Gents abound.
Think we will still swerve the match unless someone finds a value quirkier.
My gut feel, and I would have gone with Doobsy, was for Chelsea, but I don't see much value anywhere so we are just gawpers today.
Anyway, we have plenty of other stuff to sweat today.

French fifteen is drifting really badly. Just took 17.5 would you believe. The draw doesn't look a problem as chompy pointed out.

Apologies to anyone offended in the fa cup bet. Unlikely to be massive value either way.
