Dulwich Hamlet plan to play Met Police today, if the pitch inspection at 11am goes well. It is supposed to rain all the way from now until 5pm though, so I am not sure it will make it. Hamlet in the past have been complimented on getting games going but this may seem a stretch. If it does go ahead obviously the conditions underneath will be heavy which is not good for Hamlet's style of play, which is to play it on the deck.
Seen them recently and they are still lacking that goal threat up front. For all their chances, and they create loads, they look toothless in front of goal, despite actually scoring a fair bit recently which is interesting, but they have looked up against it when the oppositions team's defence looks strong, and the oppo team generally play deep. Looking to counter and exploit Hamlet's pretty rocky looking defence at times. Met Police, from reports, look to set up in this way.
Met Police have won their last three, all against fellow relegation sides granted, but convincing results nonetheless and if that doesn't seem too impressive, they drew 0-0 at home with Lowestoft who are a decent higher mid table team that actually beat Hamlet recently and also drew, more impressively, with Wealdstone (top of the league), away, 1-1 in the two games before the last three. Dulwich Hamlet were beaten heavily by Wealdstone recently and there may be something in the fact that the Police did well recently against teams Hamlet did badly to. But maybe not, I just think it is a worthy point to bring up. Generally, I think they are showing some sort of revival belying their position in the table.

press on a team to see their previous games.
Hamlet’s goalkeeper Wilson has been putting in fine performances to really steady the ship and helps support the short football played from the back, as they know if they do faff a ball, he can likely save them. He’s 31 and a lot of years experience as a good shot stopper at this level saving them many times. And he quite often gets them out of trouble in games that wouldn’t show his input on the scoreline, like against Maidstone recently at home. I was present and saw him make two great saves, and one dominant save from a one on one. If one went in then the comfortable looking win they ended up with would be in jeopardy.
He did get injured last week in their 6-0 demolition of Cray Wanderers, what a team they are btw
, and that put Hamlet seemingly into a fit of panic to find a replacement keeper as they had none. They have settled on Maidstone's apparent third choice in Yannick Nlate. The very fact Hamlet's rivals are letting this lad go to them may be an indicator of his capabilities currently. He is in his early twenties, been released by pro clubs without much game time and recently has been playing for Kettering Town and Droylsdon. He received separate 7-0 batterings playing in both sides. On the Kettering boards online one poster described him politely as eccentric, conceding that he did help prevent goals, but the general vibe was he wasn’t to be too sorely missed when he left.
He is 6’4 and a unit, and think his size may be carrying him from club to club. It may have been the reason Maidstone punted on him, but it doesn’t sit well that they are willing to loan him to their rivals like that. Just seems fishy. I may be wrong and he is amazing, but that is the risk you take.
Hamlet have won well, on paper at home, in most recent games which suggests their price is so short. Plus they are second and the Police are 17th of a 24 team league. Perhaps keeping the bookies more short sighted here. Hamlet have a huge threat in Oztuhmer, and despite conditions probably being terrible, a rejuvenated Police side and a emergency loan third choice keeper from a rival side in place, I still think they could win. But at the odds of just over 5/4 for the double chance for Police and the draw, I suggest should be odds on.
19/5 I think is off of the price for a win for the Police and I think the draw is a little off too at 7/2 so propose £15 on each result happening acting as an effective £30 double chance Police/draw bet. You need to put the win on with Ladbrokes/Victor and the draw on with Bwin.
This beats the 5/4 double chance offered by Bwin outright, by offering just a tad more value, I make it around 3 twentieths worth.
Wouldn’t put you off the outright win market for Police as that is value imo, but I want to increase our chances of having a successful bet.
I wonder if by making it an effective double chance if I am eating into my own value or just leaving it as is, it is sort of acting as a reverse double? I wonder what Ed’s views on that are.
I hope the game gets under way anyway, and gl if you get on, hopefully the above wasn’t too cumbersome. And if you were worried, it doesn’t tale me too long to write so much. I am bound to have made something unclear so if you have a question I should be able to answer.

I had a brainwave about this picture
I remembered there's a species called a Hector's Dolphin, but I see from the web address of the picture it's actually a Sully Pilot Whale. Both dolphins, but different flavours.
Now I'm stumped.

Ha, thanks Ant.
I loved.....
He is 6’4 and a unit,
Unit, lol!
And.....
I make it around 3 twentieths worth.
FWIW, an easier way of describing "3 twentieths worth" is, I think, 15%.
Just remind me. Did we not get involved in some coup last season which involved Met Police? One of the teams only had 8 fit players or somesuch. And won, of course, & we did chunks. Maybe my memory is wrong.
Personally, I think you are approaching this bet wrong, but I'm happy to be given a steer. Betting TWO results is not very decisive, is it? Think we are leaving a lot of equity behind betting like that. Doubtless 93 posts from Elders will correct me shortly.....
Anyway, we will have a bet on it a bit later unless any serious negativity arrives, & once we have clarified the best way to get on.
Hope you enjoy yourself at WBA today. Fred would like to see you do well in the FA Cup.

Here you go Tal...
Blue speaking in interview in the aftermath of 9/11... Lee Ryan: "What about whales? They are ignoring animals that are more important. Animals need saving and that's more important. This New York thing is being blown out of proportion." Simon Webbe: "Shut up Lee". Lee: "Who gives a f**k about New York when elephants are being killed". Duncan James: "Shut up". BET SUGGESTION £20 WIN CHALFONT ST PETER 85/40 VC BET
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/fa-cup/chalfont-st-peter-v-metropolitan-police/winner
Betway were a standout earlier on but that has long gone
At the prices still worth £20
All second hand info this but had it from two seperate people today both of whom are good non league judges.
Both told me independently they would have chalfont 13-8ish for this game
Started season badly but playing better than results suggest, Met Police division higher but not had a good start either
Obviously not a great idea to have a bigger bet anyway as sort of market that would not help an accounts lifespan
Whoops.
Ignore my earlier witterings about a Met Police coup last season, this was the bet, & it had nothing to do with anything, really.

Reminder, we have NFL interests TONIGHT (Saturday) & tomorrow.

http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl
Can someone do a quick preview of who we want to win in our long-term stuff?
We might also be interested in some game sub-markets tonight & tomorrow. Chunks at the ready.
We require two results
Bengals to beat the Chargers, tomorrow
Eagles to beat the Saints
The Eagles game is on Sky overnight
The weather is extremely cold in the North US, and the Eagles play outside.
Its absolutely set up for Shady McCoy to have a massive game, as it might not be easy to stretch the field with long passes and so much of the Eagles offense is centred on his abilities on screens etc. As we saw in his 200yd+ second half in the snow against Detroit, his footwork and balance in tough conditions is second to none, makes cuts that defenders really struggle with
He's 7-1 FTS with William Hill and if anyone sees prices for him to score 2+ touchdowns please let me know
One absolutely stand out market is as follows
http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl/new-orleans-saints-at-philadelphia-eagles/total-receiving-yds-lesean-mccoy
Over 30.5 receiving yards
The NFL stats bible gives details of every passing play to McCoy last season, and the summary at the level above that is at
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/McCoLe01.htm
Basically he caught 52 of 64 targets for 539 yards in 16 games , or 34 yards a game
This is a more interesting bet than looking at rushing where quotes exceeed 100 yards and the spread doesn't leave a lot of room
