Daily Summary, as @ 0730, Wednesday May 23rd

There was no Summary or Update yesterday, as I was a little pre-occupied elsewhere.......but we have been very quiet on the thread this week, what with the football season almost finished etc, and we had no action at all yesterday.

Monday's only interest was a lovely liittle hector bet on the Tennis, which eased home nicely, so we made a small profit on the day.

Our Miami Heat "lay" is looking to be in trouble, we may need a bit of good fortune there.

The ESC nonsense continues, & we are in a weird spot. To everyone's surprise (Bobby excepted), the Russian Grannies were indeed a live prospect, but it looks like we have been buggered by a low draw. As any half-wit knows, a high draw is nigh essential in ESC. Damn, I so wanted to see MANTIS's face when the toothless Granny smiled at him.

Some controversy.......the two bets we placed on the pricing rick (Adelaide Crows v Collingwood Magpies) have BOTH been voided. I had the choice of them being returned at the "correct" price, or voided, & I chose the latter.  "No bet".

What's coming up?

Still not much doing.

Chomps Posted a nag last night, but I was unavailable for punting purposes, & I don't know if the price remains available or viable. Will look shortly.

Dubs gave us two very long odds-on shots in the Euros, "max bets" @ 1/6 & 1/7. No doubt the bets are nailed on, but I'm not sure I fancy tying up £300 for a month or whatever at those prices.

I'll look through the thread & get caught up today, but I don't think I missed anything else.

Today, we DO have some action though, the Mumbai Indians are playing, they MUST win this match, I gather. It will be live on ITV4, which is, I believe, a TV channel of sorts. Presumably, it shows stuff which is deemed not good enough to be on proper ITV, ITV2, or ITV 3. The mind boggles.

Live sport on TV tonight includes Elite Speedway, Poole v Peterborough, Poole being huge odds-on. Probs best swerved.

"Winning Post" has racing tonight from Worcester, Sligo, & super Sedgefield, where, many moons ago, the Dickinson family used to farm the races.

More interesting on Live TV tonight, perhaps, Rugby Union, when the ridiculously named "Cornish Pirates" entertain London Welsh. (Sky Sports 2).

http://www.oddschecker.com/rugby-union/club-rugby/championship-league/cornish-pirates-v-london-welsh/winner

Recommendations for tonight's fayre will be entertained with more hope than optimism.

Stat Attack.

Just for amusement, really, sample size means they are not relevant, but I still find them interesting.

Top 5 ROI's.

Baseball (3 bets) ROI 116.8%

Greyhounds (7 bets) ROI 105.56%

Rugby League (9 bets) ROI 61.86%

NFL (2 bets) ROI 32.14. (Not sure, but this MAY have been Super Bowl novelty bets).

Football (111 bets) ROI 12.88%

Bottom 5 ROI's

Boxing (4 bets) MINUS 57.42%

Formula 1 (4 bets) MINUS 100%

Gaelic Football (1 bet) MINUS 100%

Moto GP (1 bet) MINUS 100%

Speedway (1 bet) MINUS 100%

When the national lottery was launched I realised straight away that I would only ever enter it using lucky dip numbers, the thought of my regular numbers coming up on a week I didn't enter would be too much to bear.

Well this week thows up a similar situation. Starting tomorrow is the BMW PGA at Wentworth. The thought of Nicolas Colsaerts winning this without me at least proposing him makes me feel slightly nauseous.  But in reality I am not just offering him up with blind faith loyalty, his record this season is outstanding, he has had 7 top 10 finishes out of 10 stroke play tournaments. I even went on his website to see what he has been doing since last weeks win and was happy to see that he was already at Wentworth on Tuesday morning with a practice round before 8am. Indeed  at the price we can get on him the only reason for not backing him is the fact that he won last week and back to back winners at golf are rarer than a Tikay 5 bet. But this seems like a golfer going places who wants to break into the top echelons of the game and deserves following.

So on the understanding that I will not propose him again for a while, unless he ends up going for a treble, I propose the following bet:  Colsaerts in the BMW golf £10 e/w 50-1 Betfred ( 1/4 the odds for 1st 6)

After last week's fun, how can we NOT set fire to £20? I have no idea on these things, but I would imagine 50/1 is about right, for the reasons you briefly touched upon, but deffo a worthwhile banzai after last week's 4 day super-sweat & bink.

One condition though - we want daily updates from you. A little light entertainment on thread helps balance out all the MANTIS tosh, & sits nicely with the Russian Grannies.

We have £10 EW @ 50/1 (quarter odds top 6) with Betfred on Genk's greatest, Belgiums's best, old 3G himself.

The reality is that he is out with the washing for a good reason, but if he can dink a good round on Thursday, we'll have a day or two's sweat to look forward to, which would be decent value for £20. Stranger things......

ON

  BMW PGA Championship - Outright
BMW PGA Championship - Outright
EW 1/4 1,2,3,4,5,6 Colsaerts, Nicolas 50/1
Total stake £ 20.00
Estimated return £ 645.00

Full stake £ 20.00
Full estimated return £ 645.00

Might I suggest a possible bit of value.

Celta Vigo v Xerez.

Xerez DNB 9/1 on Skybet

Hear me out:

Celta Vigo admittedly have been bashing teams up at home although they lost 3-2 to Deportivo, who coincidentally Xerez just beat 3-2.

The last 3 H2H fixtures saw 2 draws and 1 Xerez win.

Xerez could be a sort of bogey team for Celta. I am cursed itt, but I believe the price is too big given the facts and will still be having a couple of quid on it myself.

I really like this bet, course form is a worry but on current form alone I think he is overpriced and slightly forgotten, there is an extra par5 this year also which will suit him and 6 places is great

Sigh, I missed that last night, as I was unavailable, & now 38 people have mentoned it today. Quality rubbage......Wink

First time Chomps ever got the right side of a price too. All he has to do now is find one that wins. He is living proof that beating the price does not always equate to profit. Feels good though.

Give me a clue please?

What sport, & what country, is that?

We are not as well-versed in this thread as your splendid one where you buy shit. We just back shit.

PS - As a curiosity, do you keep P & L records on the Shit Thread? How do the two threads match up? We should have a handicap start really, we have MANTIS aboard.

Football, Spain, Seguna division. Not been much buying recently tbh. Seems you have brought us down to your level.
