Bet Placement
During UKPC week, Tighty, who had offered to do this on numerous occasions, did a lot of the Fred bet placement on my behalf. This included making the decisions, he did NOT have to refer them to me. He has more energy reserves than me & is better organised.
Any views on this, going forward?
More follows.....
It is hard to volunteer to put bets on as many have similar restrictions to you.
I have about 4 where my restrictions are like yours and a couple of others where I can't get on a horse bet at all. There are also times where I just can't be here. So it isn't like I don't want to volunteer just there isn't much point. If Tighty can get on and he is here more often, then he is a better volunteer than me.
Ha! This is also true.

One other Thought For The Day....
We could consider splitting Fred into a number of seperate threads.
We have so many "specialists" here, on all manner of things, Football, GeeGees, F1, Cycling, NBA, Greyhounds, Tennis, Golf etc, plus a bunch of obscure things such as ladies frocks, Crufts, CBB & Novelty Shite.
Each Sport, or bunch of sports, has it's own Thread, & own "Elders" who monitor & cast views on bets etc. They would sort of take "ownership" of that thread, but Bet Placement would be as it is now, by me, or Tighty & me, or whatever we agree.
On the plus side, it helps de-clutter Fred, but as a negative, the vast majority of us would want to follow every Fred Thread, so that just means more bloody clicking to & fro.
Anyway, just a thought.

Hate this idea. It's the wonderfully eclectic nature of topics/markets/contributors that gives thread much of its magnificence IMO.

I don't like it either. As you say too much clicking about.

Good!
I'm just trying to satisfy those who see problems with the current set-up.
As you were, until advised otherwise.
Cheltenham next, then.

From my point of view id rather read a 100 line essay from Ant about a palace game than any mention of offers/arbing/free bets etc- just a personal preference. Give me opinions and bets over the other stuff any day of the week

Will clarify- once we've all understood that offers and free bets are +ev then there isn't much more to bring to the discussion, the offers and free bets are usually small stakes anyway.
As for arbing- it's a hard way to make an easy living and not a route I want to go down. Feels like it's the last resort of a gambler when the game is getting to hard and can't be beaten anymore. Compare it to poker and if you are good you play online cash, when can't beat they move to online mtts/sngs. When can't beat that live cash, eventually end up live mtts and assume last resort is live sngs during wsop. Arbing is the equivalent of having to sit in the rio playing for lammers in sngs, undoubtably profitable , but the last resort for a means to an end.

Doggie Degens, Ladbrokes will only take £10 a shop on the Pastoral bet. It is a Banzai anyway. I'd rather a staffie won

Think his point was in reply to chatter about a subscription-based model.
That's some way down the line, if at all, but it would be free to existing users.
