Would rather be on Mark Hughes v Bruce in a match bet at the same prices in the battle of the 1990s old boys.  Any love for McClaren at 3 figure prices given Manure have never had a foreign coach in their history?

shall i set up a sub-spreadsheet for this market, and recommendations?

think we've had 8 names mentioned with varying degrees of seriousness on here in 90 minutes

after you, on Steve bruce.

You are after me. I'm on! Cheesy

Hull win the cup and all the big names rule themselves out of the poisoned, rusty chalice. Who knows?

Derby 2-0 up but Burnley winning, too.

Reasons on preferring Hughes to Bruce? Hughes's outstanding record at..?

Outstanding record at Blackburn/Wales.  Excellent season at Stoke this year without his best centre half for the vast majority of the season introducing a whole new concept of play to pretty much the same squad of stoke players we had under Pulis.  Caught up in a lot of politics/power struggles at QPR and Man City.  Would suggest at the same prices he has done a lot more than Bruce has in his managerial career so far.

If he did to United what he did to Blackburn, even Tony Pulis would consider them "a bit much" physically.

Fairly clear whoever gets the nod will have a LOT of politics to deal with.

You might be right, but I think I have blinkers on when it comes to Sparky.

Surely Fergie can't co-exist in his current role (whatever that may be) with any foreign manager coming in?

I just keeping looking at Jose at 40/1 and thinking really?Huh?Huh?

Won the EPL tick
Won Champions League tick
Won FA cup tick
Ego big enough to cope with the job massive tick

Terry out of contract in the summer with chelski not willing to give him more than a 1 year deal and could easily jump ship with Jose.  Someone put me off before i go to my local bald's and try and win the world.

Why would he leave Chelsea - who are arguably the best placed team to win the league next season - to go to a club for whom third would be a huge success?

If he wins the champions league or if something mad happens in the premiership, it's arguable he would say "I was the Prodigal son, we've quaffed all the fatted calf and now I'm off again" and disappear like Ace Rimmer up the M6. But even then, he would be no more likely than the handful of decent managers who would be available, as per the top of the book now.

That's my take anyway. As form has showed, doing the opposite of what I say in football is not a bad idea. I blame variance obv. Smiley

Back to the day job 1-0 watford against QPR should lock up the top half finish if it stays like that.

agreed but he doesn't have 100% control over transfer decisions at Chelski like he would at manure.  Roman likes to buy his favourites.  Glazer's don't even get involved.  What can he do at Chelski that he hasn't already done?  His core spine of the classic Chelski team is virtually busto now (Cech, Terry, Lampard, Cole)   I just think his legacy of turning Manure around back into a super power would be too much for his ego to turn down.  Plus this is hardly a time for Manure to be gambling with their biggest ever single summer transfer investment and the potential multi season loss of champions league revenue should it go wrong again.  Proven C&D form in the EPL/champions league must be their key requirement.  No one is better placed than Jose.

Man U are a huge club, should be looking to get the very best or at least close to that, Steve Bruce seems insane to me.

Oh, and Moyes hasn't been sacked yet, you would think he had reading itt.
