Daily Summary as at 0745, Thursday June 7th

As we quietly meander towards the upcoming mayhem of UK Open Darts, Euro12, US Open, Royal Ascot, we are just bitting & bobbing each day to have a little fun, keep the thread ticking over, & earn some pennies. The sooner we get back in the swing, the better, imo. Bloody NBA........

We only had one active wager yesterday, that NBA Westbrook "assists" thing. We needed 6 minimum, he got 5.

We placed 2 nice forward bets though, Srna as top Croatia Goalscorer (qualifies as a bBanzai), this is nailed on, gatters is ALWAYS right, trust me.

Sandy - Stats Sandy - who so rarely lets us down, & always gives us long-term quality sweats, gave us "no holes in one" this weekend at the St Jude Golf Tourney. Apparently, there will be 1,868 attempts, so that means we get 1,868 sweats over 4 days. I'd say that was pretty good value, & wonderful fun.

What's coming up?

Euro 12 starts TOMORROW.

I'll summarise our book again before it starts. Not sure there will be much genuine value in individual match betting, but maybe someone can spot some value in the individual match sub-markets. In any case, we have a few bob invested at good prices already, so we don't have to bet.

UK Open Darts starts today, & there are sub-markets galore. "Outright winner" book is here....

St Jude Golf (US PGA) starts around midday today.

Favourite is Rory, who has missed the cut in his last three straight outings.

Note that the Shop will be shut for placing bets between 6.30pm & Midnight this evening, as I'm working. So, if you have anything for tonight, please put it up early.

He finished with 5 assists....going to bed in a huff. Send more money

Wink

Listen, we just have to keep doing the right things. I think the bet was well-researched, well argued, & made a lot of sense. I even went down a point, sacrificing a bit of price, to lock it up & give us a bit of a boost.

Just one of them things.

Like the time Grandma farted in Church, we shalll not discuss the matter further.

I do not normally like to bet on favourites in golf tournaments. However the Fed Ex St Jude has one of the weakest fields I have ever seen for a PGA event. Reasons not to back all of the main contenders can be found. The reason not to back Rory McIlroy is that he is in bad form having missed 3 cuts in a row. However at 10-1 I think he warrants support. The course last week was brutal and if you don't get the breaks then it is easy to get disspirited on such a course. I think that backing the best player to hit form, let's remember he is often compared to a young Tiger, is a far better option than backing someone to get lucky.

Recommend £20 McIlroy @ 10-1 available on several sites inc Betfred

Would be very interested in Tighty's view on that, too.

Think its about right, SA to win but England to be competitive. Obviously, hoping England can win a game, the risk being 3-0 SA rather than England winning 2.

The weather forecast for Fri and Sat in Durban is wet, so this boosts England's chances somewhat. I think they get outgunned in dry conditions, especially at altitude in the second test.

Popped into Coral earlier.

They are biggest price on outright winners at Euro 2012 an also on 3.20 at Lingfield.

Recommend £20 McIlroy @ 10-1 available on several sites inc Betfred

I'm slightly uncomfy with 10/1 for Rory, seems very short to me, but there have been no dissenters, & it'd be good to have a sweat on this Event, so we'll go with it for small money, hope Rory can spring back to his best form, & hector continues with his run.

We have £25 @ 10/1 with Blue Square, Rory McIllroy, Outright Winner, Fed EX St Jude Classic.

Must say i initially thought this was too short but when you think he was 6/1 to win the British Open last year and then compare the field there to this one 10-1 looks big fr sure.

Cricket was a washout at Edgbaston

I reckon we have a chance with 3 days play, if we win the toss and get first use of the bowling conditions

Touch and go whether we get the amount of play, sadly.

*ahem* It's The Open Championship if you don't mind unless you've now gone further than mid-Atlantic. Wink
