His half up the last and Stenson losing to Reed ensured the win after an afternoon of drama for the bet that at various times saw Rose 4 down in his single
- Ryder Cup losers were
- £10 Jamie Donaldson top rookie, despite achieving 3 points out of 3. As you can see from the table above Mr International Diplomacy 2014 Patrick Reed scored 3.5 points to win this one.

Overall it was a competition where rookies excelled, scoring 13.5 points. I am sure in most Ryder Cups 3 rookie points seals a bet like this

- £20 Sergio Garcia Top European. 2.5 points not enough for an each way return
- £25 USA, which looked in trouble from Saturday afternoon
Overall, for the Ryder cup portfolio of bets, a profit of £3. Entirely due to the two Rose bets.

I wonder what price we would have got on Mickelson sticking the knife into Watson in the post match press conference? Sad to see in a way, but pure theatre and great copy for the watching journalists

Another loser yesterday was the £20 Kansas City Royals bet. The Royals won their last game of the regular season 6-4 but before they finished news came through that the Tigers, one game ahead, had beaten the Twins 3-0 to secure the division
The Royals now host the Oakland Athletics in the AL wild card on Tuesday night, the winner of the game advancing to meet the Los Angeles Agels of Anaheim in the divisional series. We have an 18-1 ticket on the Royals to win the American League
Ongoing positionsWhen you have a bet on a team to be relegated and they have Burnley at home, you look on through your fingers. West Bromwich Albion duly demolished the promoted club 4-0 and rose to 10th in the table.

The usual busy Sunday NFL schedule
- The Green Bay Packers and our NFL comeback player of the year bet Aaron Rdgers roared into life pulverising the Chicago bears 38-17 in Chicago. Rodgers threw for 302 yards and 4 touchdowns

- The Philadelphia Eagles lost for the first time this season, 26-21 in San Francisco in a really odd game. They scored all their points on defense and special teams becoming only the first team in 72 occurrences of a team scoring three non-offensive touchdowns to lose.
The Eagles main struggle is with injuries to their Offensive line, which has 4 starters out. Yesterday LeSean McCoy, another bet of ours, was held to 17 yards on 10 carries, with no holes in front of him to run into. Things were so bad that down 21-26 with 3 minutes to go the Eagles threw it twice on the one yard line when looking for the winning score rather than give it to McCoy

- In the AFC West the San Diego Chargers, who we have at a very tasty 13/2 to win their division, comfortably beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 33-14 to go 3-1. Philip Rivers' TD-to-INT ratio in 22 games under coach Mike McCoy currently stands at 44:12 which is a big change compared to earlier in his career

- The real disappointment amongst our team bets yesterday was the Pttsburgh Steelers losing in the last seconds to the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's difficult to find a more unpredictable team than the Steelers? Barely beat Cleveland, blown out by Baltimore, they crush Carolina, then lose here

Still morale seems good
coach Mike Tomlin spoke afterwards "Bottom line is we're an undisciplined football team. ... It's inexcusable. ... It's ridiculous.'
- At Wembley the Miami Dolphins came across the Oakland Raiders, an untalented team that performed worse than its talent. Raiders radio voice Greg Papa on the game: "This is an international disaster"

As we have Miami to finish bottom of the AFC East this wasn't great news, as Miami, its players made to look like superstars, won to go 2-2 on the season ahead of the Buffalo Bills at 1-3
- Amongst player bets our quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 298 yards against Minnesota. He fell behind Andrew Luck in the passing yards tables
http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passingbut the good news, as we are on at 16-1 each way is the Atlanta defense is slow, unreactive and has no pass rush. As they will concede a lot of points, Ryan is going to have to make a lot of plays for them to win games
- Kelvin Benjamin of Carolina is one of our Rookie of the Year bets. Yesterday he scored another touchdown and had 76 yards receiving. If you extrapolate bhis numbers through 4 games, he is on pace for 84 catches, 1,316 yards, and 12 touchdowns on 144 targets. If he does that we have a real shot at 20-1 on that bet.
Finally, all for the thread i had to endure watching the X-Factor on Sky plus to see whether our group bet "Only the young"made it through to the final 24. By the time the charade had finished, the group had been re-named "only the bored and old"
The least final words in talent show history must be 'I've made my decision' - Louis Walsh. He proceeded to make six final decisions with an air of complete vacuity, but in the end put only the old through.

Next week, the judges houses. Which is terrific news. I don't root for any of our bets to lose, but if it happened quickly here, I'd be relieved
Interesting polling news from Yougov over the weekend, especially if you are on LibDem unders

It's the Arc this weekend Ectot continues to harden at the head of the market for The Arc, now the 5/1 joint-favourite with Taghrooda
Finally, Andy Murray won his first trophy since Wimbledon last year, beating Robredo in three sets in China, saving five match points on the way
Yes? Yes! (but not the Yes he wanted)
