What pot has taken you to Salford Tal?

Think about it

He is probably en route to watch Strictly, got his sequin number in his rucksack and everything.

American Hope is now a non-runner and we are down to 15.

I know you guys joke about it but there was no rain on Thursday night at Ascot and the going got slower than the advanced going description. In a world where we are short of water what possible reason could they have for watering good ground in October with rain forecast?

Calling it Good (good/firm in places) this morning just takes the piss out of punters.

...which they could have used to water the course!

Amazing how your mind works. Nice.

Saw that. Missed putting the bet on ffs. Wasting time preaching to the deaf.

Annoyingly, I didn't really get the chance to come online again until now - sorry about that!

Three bets I've picked out ahead of the race:

Top Six Finish: Jenson Button at 7/4 with Bet Victor. A talented driver in mixed conditions, and he starts 8th on the grid, good chance of this happening - although I would not suggest this bet at anything lower than 7/4. Recommend £5.

Group B (BOT/ALO/MAS/RAI): Valtteri Bottas at EVS with Bet365 and Paddy Power. Ferrari are substantially slower than Williams in Japan and Valtteri is usually a solid enough driver to keep his team mate behind. Recommend £10.

Group B (BIA/ERI/KOB/CHI): Jules Bianchi at 5/4 with Bet Victor. Mad price in my opinion, Marussia are much quicker than Caterham. Caterham only did better in qualifying due to poor strategy (mis-timing) on Marussia's part. If Jules finishes, he should quite easily beat the others in this group. Recommend £15.

for lovers of a good shortie

There has been at least one Safety Car in five of the last seven races at Suzuka, only two have been wet.

Shortest sweat ever.

Race started under a Safety Car!

Button the rain master is 66/1 from 8th on the grid.

What am I missing here? Thought he would have been much shorter in these conditions. I've had £10.

Thoughts from the experts?

Now shortened with fernando out. 40/1 still too big?

Button straight into pits for intermediates. Seems to have stolen a march. Best price now 25/1
