Mikaela Shiffrin.

Mikaela is the dominant force in the women's World Cup Slalom. 2013-14 season she won five out of the eight slalom races. Caping off a fine year with Gold in Sochi & top of the podium in the FIS World Ski Championships.

In end of season interviews she hinted that her target for the up & coming 2014-15 season is Giant Slalom. Her record in 2013-14 World Cup GS is a 7th place finish in the standings. Somewhat inconsistent, but did include two podium finishes from eight events. However her young talent & potential in the technical disciplines was apparent in Sochi with a competive 5th, but perhaps more tellingly a dominant first in her National Championships in March.

Reports from her training camp in New Zealand are looking positive.

It is only a matter of time (this season or next) before she has mastered the technique & power for GS.

Another 10% or so progression & the sort of dominant performances she has shown in slalom could see her in with a shout.

Probably Fred can't get on but 12/1 or better looks a decent sweat. B247+118 is no go for me & Scuy allowed me £2.08!

Kit update

Looks like he has agreed for a director of football to come in.

Back into evens or shorter, as suggested drifted when the arbers were about but now back

Just seen this, John.....

Hughton odds-on for Fulham job

Former Norwich boss subject of fresh flow of bets

16th October  2014

Chris Hughton has emerged as the latest frontrunner in the race to be named the next manager of Sky Bet Championship side Fulham.

The former Newcastle boss had been a 9/2 contender in a previously wide open market, but a flow of money on Hughton on Thursday morning saw his odds slashed into to 1/3 with Sky Bet.

He’s now the favourite over Kit Symons (11/4) in what now looks to be a two-horse race, with third favourite Billy McKinlay drifting all the way out to 18/1.

Sky Bet trader Jamie Munro said: “The interest in Hughton has been sudden but it’s all one-way traffic as of Thursday morning.

“He was 10/1 when we first opened the betting on Felix Magath’s successor and there’s no shortage of money riding on the appointment, but there’s still hope for our initial favourite Symons at 11/4.”

are we on Royals to win the world series as well as their conference?  Assume we backed both?
