Daily Summary

Three bets yesterday, two £40 losers, including Rick's Wycombe bet which got well & truly crushed in true ChipRich style, & £50 on a facile win by hector who slotted home his penalty & returned to the halfway line & adulation of his team mates.

The Barnet bet had a semi-neutral day, with all three relegation contendors losing, though Barnet were at home, & the other two were away. Barnet are 3 points clear of Macc & Hereford, but both have superior goal difference, so we just need a single victory from either to get over the line if Barnet don't improve. The crunch will come on Friday, when Barnet are at home to Hereford, & on Saturday, when Macclesfield are also at home to lowly Burton. Two results in our favour there & we are in great shape, two bad results & we will need to speak to Houston.

Grand National this week, another big gambling event where I need to be careful not to let "Big Event" betting euphoria destroy our 'roll. "Outright Winner" National investments will be limited to a total of £100, though "specials" can be over & above that, & of course the 3 day meet will have some good investment opportunities which will not be subject to the GN betting cap.

No in-running bets were added.

Some tricky football tonight, including Blackburn @ home to Liverpool, & Brighton at home to form hotpots Reading.

Todays gold star goes to hector, whilst to RickBFA goes this....

The "Newcastle Top 4" tip.

This now looks a terrific bet, but I missed the price by a very long way, so it is too late now. For those on it, the vbol.

I can't help applying a "parochial discount" to suggestions by fans who select their own team, it's only natural, but on this occasiom, it looks like I fell the wrong side of what could have been a great bet, but well done to geordieneil for sticking it up, & to anyone who got on.

I'll look at this more when I get to work, but at first glance isn't Liverpool at 2.12/2.14 just continued mispricing of Liverpool by the market?

Would think Dalglish will rest some players due to the FA Cup semi-final and that should weaken a side that is already performing very badly.

Would be tempted just to straight-out tip laying Liverpool at that price, but let's have some discussion about it first.

i think resting players before a big game can actually improve a side, those players coming in are trying to stake a claim for the big game, also as you pointed out liverpool have been performing badly some new faces might spice things up a little

Liverpool have won just one of their four Premier League away games against the bottom five teams in the table

I wouldn't be backing them with stolen money at 5/4 tonight. Blackburn showed plenty of spirit against United.

Suppose I am agreeing with you Greg!

Totally agree - challenge is what's the right way to get on, Blackburn have shortened from initial 3/1 I thinl

Drifted to 2.22/2.24 from 2.12/2.14 earlier. For me this still represents value laying Liverpool, though obviously would have been better earlier.

Just a bit! The lad never looked like he was confident at any stage.

Kinda interesting how the goalkeepers all do that jumping about thing to distract the pen taker these days.

I am going to get shot down for after timing, but the Liverpool game too me was the sort of bet camel started the betting against the tide thread about imho in normal circumstances Liverpool would of been odds on but with the semi coming up resting players and recent form issues I think the market had swang 2 far against Liverpool
