That's quite possible Horsey. Very difficult for a bookmaker to go up the day before, by themselves, on almost all races, and do any good from it.

VC also price up quite a few by about 6pm, though, and they'll take a bet off a newbie in my experience. Be an interesting experiment this, although Mr Camel will be fumming with all the trading going on.

Do you remember a firm called Luvbet? Went busto some time around 2000. They used to offer prices on every race the night before from about 8pm and just went with the Racing Post forecasts. There were some pretty ropey pricer uppers working for the Post at that time and they never had much of a chance in truth, even though the max liabilty per race per customer was £100 I think.

Also an advantage to race wide down the side of the course, a la Wille Carson on Bahri that time, but they'll probably all do that tbh.

That the race where he took the "old mile" route while everyone else took the "new mile" ?

Wide under the trees and the cut back to rejoin the field around the turn

Just looked the race up - it was 17 years ago ffs!

The offical going was good but I remember it being muddy. Think it rained hard on the day.

Bahri - 'raced wide, led after 1f, tacked over to inside 3f out, clear over 1f out, impressive'

Pretty sure it was the first time anyone had gone wide in Swinley Bottom. Makes sense really, as there's trees on that side of the course. Carson set a trend there.

Criminal i left it this late, but for hindsight and just to see if this would have came in, because i would have tried to sway you with this Tikay if i got here earlier, Bolton +0.5 at 8/9 away to Sunderland for a £80-£50 bet. Probably would have done a decent write up as well, all nonsensical, as usual!

No probs, this is just to add to the view of if i should be trusted more in the future, or my run good so far is beginners luck.

Surely Newcastle to beat Wigan @ 6/4 has to be worth a bet today? Won their last 6. They will be doing everything possible to keep in top 4 and with Chelsea and Man City as part of their remaining fixtures they can't afford to slip up today.

I missed that, but Wigan currently lead 2-0, so I may have got lucky!
