Mr Novice. I do not think that as acting Chief of Staff you should feel youare prevented from "tipping" on Wimbledon. My tennis knowledge is poor and is limited at the moment to finding the man to beat Federer- not his first round opponent methinks.

I tried to find a Rugby League bet yesterday but like tonight's game they all looked like routine home wins for the favourites. Betfred are slightly out of line with Wigan to win by 71 points or more tonight, at 20-1, but as it is a derby Widnes will surely raise their game enough to prevent a humiliating defeat.

Some remarkable markets on Wigan v Widnes.
Seven Wigan players are odds-on to score a try with three more no better than 11/10.

Good thinking on Federer's first round opponent! 6-1 6-1 6-1.

I don't have a mountain of stats to back this one up, but like it based on the comparative betting markets, and don't see either semi final as a foregone conclusion.

Can back an Italy v Portugal final @ best price 15/2 (or 8.4/1 on Betfair).

However placing a double on both teams to qualify with Stan James pays 9/1.

Recommending a small £10/£20 investment.

Cheers,

Jamie

I'd like to offer my first tip on tonights 20-20 game. Over 6.5 is 5-6 with skybet. These two teams have plenty of big hitters. The last game at old Trafford had 14 and since the new stands have gone up the playing area has got smaller. Recommend 60pound to win 50. Thoughts anyone?

I like this and will be backing it unless objections are raised.

On we go and I have had a detailed look at the Spain v Portugal game for us. We binked comfortable on the corners bet, so looked at this with great detail.

I can only see a decent bet again betting on corners, looked over the stats and I think it will be a tight affair with regards to corners, but Spain are priced for total most corners at a tiny 3/10 (William Hill Odds), whilst Portugal are at 11/4 for total most corners.

Why do I think the Spain odds are small?

Total corners in tournament for both teams:

Spain: 33 - 8.25 a match.
Portugal: 35 - 8.75 a match.

You can argue Spain are the best side Portugal have faced, but might be wrong, Portugal got a massive 11 corners against Germany who are currently the tournaments favourites. I also add to this, Spain did play a very limp ROI side.

So? Where am I going/pointing? I am definitely not on Spain for most corners. I might go for Portugal outright on corners or perhaps with a little handicap? Handicap corner betting (William Hill):

+1 Port 11/5
+ 2 Port 6/4
+3 Port EVS

At the moment, I am liking the 6/4 +2 bet.

With more corner bets, you can bet on the number? The above stats point to the there being 17 corners in this game by working on the average. Of course there may be more or less, but this is knockout football, I can only see both sides going for it.

Total number of corner odds (William Hill):

Under 10 - 8/5
10-12 - 21/10
Over 12 - 29/20

Over 12 would be my choice here.

Sporting Index don't have the markets priced up themselves yet, but i did find some info from them. Finding total team corners for the tournament gives us this.
Portugal Current 35 expected 40.5-41.5
Spain Current 33 43.5-44.5

http://www.sportingindex.com/spread-betting/football-international/euro-2012/tournament-team-corners/M3684109_1

Factoring in Spain being favourites, and much more likely to play 2 games, i would be be surprised to see Portugal not being a bet for most corners @ 7-2
Sent a msg to someone more clued up and will let you know. Backed it small myself in case price moves

SportingIndex have Spain by 3.
SpreadEx have Spain by 2.5.

I don't see why Spain are so heavily favoured.

In case there is another free bet offer like Bet365's in the future I thought I'd post an alternative possibility for their use.

There are 3 main options for the offer:

1 - Bet £50 on an outcome, in-play bet £50 on same outcome - double winnings if it comes off, only £50 lost if it doesn't instead of £100. Fred's choice so far.

2 - Bet £50 on an outcome, in-play bet £50 on a different outcome - hope both come off for lots of winnings, only £50 lost if in-play bet loses, first £50 is on a different market so might still give profit/break-even/small loss.

3 - Bet £50 on a double-chance outcome, in-play bet £50 on the other outcome. Guaranteed profit, but not as much as the other 2. But guaranteed no loss.

Which one you go for depends on how much you want to risk/gain.

Fred has gone for option 1 so far, so lost £50 on the Spain v Italy game, but made a good profit on the England v Italy game.

Option 3 would have meant a guaranteed profit in both however.

Obviously you have to be careful with the odds but I have read that this has worked with Bet365's last 5 offers. I did it myself yesterday - bet £50 on England/Italy double chance at 1.36, then in-play bet £50 on the draw at 2.87. The draw meant a profit of £43.50. If either team had won the profit would have been £18.

Just a thought as obviously Fred has made a lot more than I did!

You may be guaranteeing a profit with option 3 but you are pissing equity away.

Pretty sure 7/2 is a stonking price. Just realised i posted on my dads account "Peejaytwo" I'm back from uni, and hes logged in the home computer, so il post on that account like 3 times a day because I'm a tard. Spoke to him about it, and he said he'd look into it when SPIN post their prices. Also, emailed my (former) boss to get his views

I think the bet is on its last legs. Durham havent put up much of a first innings so it'll be an easy chase with no big hitting Sad sorry.
