Have you checked your Bet365 account? They have refunded a pre-match bet for everyone whether you got the in-play bet on or not. I just found £50 in my account and withdrew it Smiley

I really like the Portugal corners bet.
Stats from the games so far indicate that Portugal obtain more corners than Spain.
Bookies seem consistent in their opinion that Spain will get 2 or 3 more  than Portugal, presumably as a by-product of them having Spain as favourites to win the match.
However, we also have a theory that a team that goes behind is likely to get more corners after that which we think should also favour Portugal.

I'm inclined to back Portugal.

Spain aren't known for early goals, but even so, can't see a reason not to. Get on before 10/3 goes imo

The corners bet is a very good one IMO. There is deffo a correlation between goals scored and corner make ups so we need to be careful taking a small sample from games when one of the teams has never been behind against a team that have had to open up at times because they needed goals/wins.

At the price tho I think it has to be a bet given Spain are again more likely to win the game and it's a knockout game so there will be even more need for the team that is behind to attack. Obv if Portugal score first we might be in trouble but it's 100/30 and we know the pros and cons of it prob better than some of the firms thanks to sandy's analysis.

I am finding at the moment to back the +2 and also +3, because I am greedy.

I still also point out that over 12 corners is 29/20.

I've cheated on this one a bit. I took the price yesterday because I was going to have the bet personally even if Fred didn't.

Spain have won corners 7-2, 8-2,11-4 & 7-3 so far in the tournament.

Against France 7-3 and France had won corners 11-4, 6-5 & 8-2 in the 1st round.

A lot depends on whether Portugal can get the ball and do anything with it.

Tempting as it is i think no bet to be honest.

Out of interest what was the corners score when they met in the World Cup 2 years ago?

It's a big price in my view after looking at the averages and totals, but really would have gone for the handicaps.

I think EVS for +3 is a big price too. I am personally going to go for both +2/+3. £60 on +3 and £40 on +2 I think.

Oops.

It's not a horrendous bet but i don't think it's as good as it looks at 1st glance.

This is a bit different from some of those games tho as two of those games were against teams that set out not to attack much, one was against ROI who were just outclassed. Portugal have put up good figs in the hardest group in the comp, tho as I said above they have also been in situations that meant they had to get results/ goals.

It's too small a sample to use confidently but there is deffo a chance the game pans out as some of those earlier Portugal games did so at 100/30 and 7/2 it's prob worth a bet and I think Vince has staked it about right too.

Btw Sandy, I think that ht corners bet you put up in one of the earlier games was one of the best bets ever put on here, that was prob a case of the trader letting the tool produce markets as it would for any other game, without any thought for the circumstances at that point in the match. I was a bit sick I only saw it afterwards.

Germany v Italy - Hard to pick out some bets for this one.

Stats:

Corners
Ger: 20/5
Ita: 27/6.75

Goals:
Ger: 9/2.25
Ita: 4/1

Conceeded:
Ger: 4/1
Ita: 2/0.5

Attempts on Target:
Ger: 50/12.5
Ita: 33/8.25

Off target:
Ger: 27/6.25
Ita: 37/9.25

Fouls committed:
Ger: 36/9
Italy: 60/15

Fouls suffered:
Ger: 45/11.25
Ita: 68/17

Yellow Cards:
Ger: 3/0.75
Ita: 11/2.75

Reds - 0/0.

I am here not so sure on a corners bet, think I will swurve a corners bet.

The only 2 bets I am interested in here are cards and a German outright win. A Germany win is 10/11 on WH (I'm sure we can find better somewhere). Why cards? Italy's stats show they have made fouls a lot more than Germany. They are now facing a lot better unit and a goal scoring machine against Germany, so I can see the average moving up a bit here. Over 3 cards for Italy is 21/10.

Confident Germany will win the game though, Italy didn't really need the extra 30 minutes against England.

Advising the outright win for Germany, but this will go against your bet on the Ita/Port double, which I think is a bad bet, but I am sure others think mine are bad bets too, win some, lose some.

Discussion please.

All these stats from the group stages are largely irrelevant.
