Lovely Sandy, thanks.

Whilst I have your attention, how do I check for Holes in One at the Canadian Open, please?

Seems they are playing tough this year Sad

And after my first post on here, time for my first tip.

There's a team playing tomorrow that are the current European, World and Olympic Champions and you can back them at 7/4 to win another Gold.

Norway Womens Handball team kick off their Olympic defense against France tomorrow. France are third favourites and got turned over 32-24 by Norway last December in the World Championship final. I'm guessing that Norway's price will disappear if they have a comfortable victory.

I've had £50 on them, would love to hear any views from anyone in the know?

Welcome to Fred, & that's a grand start, if I may say so, thank you.

If I said I knew the first thing about the current state of Norweigan Womens Handball, you may not buy that. You may be right, too.

In fact I doubt if there is a soul on blonde who has any knowledge of Norweigan Womens Handball, with the possible exception of Mere who monitors all things in female sport, with a very well-attuned eye.

I'm almost certainly going to have a dabble with that bet, it's just so niche!

I strongly suggest you watch the ladies volleyball every, and I mean every day it is on Tony.

I once spent 4 days of a holiday in Spain laying on a settee with the raving shits with only Eurosport's coverage of the ladies volleyball world championships to keep me going.

It was a great 4 days.

It will set us up nicely for the beach beauty category in the Miss World contest which off the top of my head might be scheduled for August 1st.

FML @ forgetting to back Jenkins.

At least we know the reason the Queens hat to be peach was 1/4. Hope PP lost a few quid.

I expect she could have had a right touch if she'd placed her bets more carefully.

Daily Report, as @ 07:15 Friday July 28th

Two completed bets yesterday, & two winners. Easy game.

We had two darts bets, both £60 @ 5/6, & both eased home with plenty in hand. As has so often been the case, Darts were good for us. This thread would be better off if we stuck to Darts & Football, but not half as much fun, & I would not want it any other way. We're doing OK.

Easy to woulda-coulda-shoulda, but we also missed a Darts bet yesterdy because I, like half the punting world, never realised that the Jenkins match was an afternoon affair. I have never been good at afternoon affairs.

In the Rennies column, not quite so good yesterday.

In the Seniors Golf, Wesselingh is still in the hunt, but needs to get a wriggle on sharpish. We have £10 EW @ 100/1, quarter odds top 5. The Leaderboard is here....

http://www.europeantour.com/seniortour/season=2012/tournamentid=2012860/leaderboard/index.html

In the Canadian Open, we have Doctor Noh to finish Top 20. He is still out with the washing, in about 60th place, but he had a much better day yesterday, shooting -4, & a two shot swing today will put him in the Top 20. Keep the faith, I think this guy gets his head down & strides all the ay to the line.

Also in the Canadian Open, we have bet that there WILL BE a hole in one. The Par 3's seem to be playing tough though, as this link kindly provided by Sandy shows. Still, it only takes one, & the bet remains very live.

http://espn.go.com/golf/stats/hole

That was it for yesterday.

A good day, happy with that.

What's coming up?

We invested in to events yesterday, both Olympic based.

In Football, UAE to beat Team GB. We have 9/1 the win, & 9/4 with a goal start. I'm not over-optimistic, but I am sure it is a good price for us, though master tactician Psycho would disagree. I think the game is tomorrow.

In Womens Handball - yes, there is such a thing - we have a stone-cold cert, in Norway, & we might even top up that bet. We have 7/4, & the Norweigan Womens Handball Team are far & away the dominant force in the game, by a long chalk. We have Fred newbie "Rubbish" to thank for that.

ON TV today, we have live coverage of more ECB40 cricket, some South African Rugby - Stormers v Sharks, oooh - Darts continues, Golf, Football (Southampton v Ajax, & Liverpool v Spurs, wtf?), plus horseracing from York, Ascot, & Newmarket, & all three courses generally offer decent fayre. In F1, there is Hungarian GP qualifying, & who could forget, Live Speedway, the Croatian Grand Prix. Unmissable.

An embarrasment of sporting & punting riches, and a HUGE day for bookies & punters alike.

Good luck all.

Too much Olympic stuff to mention, but we willl see gold Medals awarded today in Cycling, & Swimming.

Jaffa stuck up a swimming bet, & I'll have a look at that very shortly.

The Headline Event today is the Mens Cycling Road Race (girlies tomorrow), I may even bring you spectacular photos as it speeds past my abode in which I am today trapped - I am literally imprisoned today, all the roads are closed & I cannot go out.

There has been a lot of Fred chat about Cavendish being nailed on for this, but I just don't have a feel for the event, & have no idea what is, or is not, "value", so unless someone gives me some help, we'll be keeping our powder dry.

Read an interesting piece on the 200m individual medley betting, where Phelps and Lochte are thought to be very close to equal. The way the schedule has been worked out, Lochte is set to be swimming in the 200m backstroke final just half an hour before the medley, so the 10/11 on Phelps looks very generous.

Lochte beat Phelps to win the world title last year so has previous, but the schedule is bang against him here. Phelps, needless to say, is the greatest ever Olympian, with 14 gold medals so far #form

Ta Jeff.

I think this takes place @ 10am today, though I'm not certain.

Anyway, let's get the Olympics started, & go with Phelps.

We have £55 with Ladbrokes @ 10/11, Phelps to win 200m Individual Medley Gold.

I think WillHill went 5/4 Cavendish yesterday. If that appeared again it would be value.

I'm going with Sagan ew at 13/2 with PP. He won't suffer on the hill and I think he can go from further out with EBH, Cancellara, Gilbert etc but also compete in the bunch sprint with Greipel Cav and Goss.

You prefer Sagan EW @ 13/2 to a Cav win @ 5/4?

I have no idea about this, but instinctively, & no doubt wrongly, I lean towards the 13/2 shot.

I'm going to be Offline for an hour, will muse further when I return. 10am start, I gather.

PS - Cav currently best priced 10/11.

I think you have missed the value.   As such the answer should be no bet?

Congrats to tightly and thread.  Obviously got a good price from us mugs on UAE.
