At the Wyndham the course was remodelled in 2007.

There have been hole in ones in 3/4 since. 2009,2010 & 2011.

Ladbrokes go evens a hole in one this year.

Noon start.

Sandy

Thanks Sandy.

That one must be close, or marginal?

On strict maths, it is a bet, but 4 renewals is obviously an inadequate sample size.

The course has two "short" Par 3's (163 yds & 174) & two long ones (223 & 235).

Incidentally, Paddy Power offer a different "Hole In One" Market, they are offering it "by round".

Day 1 - 9/2

Day 2 - 9/2

Day 3 - 15/2

Day 4 - 15/2

Will YOU be backing it @ Evens with Ladbrokes?

To gain from daily there would need to be a bias like there is at the masters. 1st 2 days would effectively make you a loss compared to anytime and the last 2 days would only make a small gain. If you do it anytime is best. 1 hole in one @ 3 and 2 @16 which are the shorter of the 4 par .

3/4 would indicate that evens is value, although it's a tad small as you say. Contrast this to Castle Stuart in the week we lost going for a hole in one in US, where there were 2 hole in ones the first year but we didn't bet (wasn't recommended) and again there were 2 hole in ones. I said at the time next year at Castle Stuart is a bet, and i mean a huge bet, but there are only 2 years to go on.

I bet most of what i put up here as well as others on here and some not. I won't be on this but only due to lack of available funds.

Sandy

If we think evens for the 4 rounds is value, surely the 9/2 9/2 15/2 15/2 with £10 each is even greater value, as we have the same number of shots? Total outlay of £40 means we either win, £45, or £75, plus we can then factor in the probability of more than one hole in one across days. Can't see a downside to betting these instead of the evens bet.

I was not suggesting we should take the "by round" odds, just thought them interesting, as we don't usually see them. Or I don't.

I have a default setting that suggests NO hole in one is far more likely than a hole in one, but I can't fathom logical reasoning for it.

Anyway, you said you would back it yourself, & Fred has done well by you, so we have had £50 with Ladbrokes, @ Evens, that there WILL be a H-i-O.

As the kids say, let's, umm, gogogo.

Ahh, thats interesting......effectively better odds AND the chance of bonus holes in one?

Clearly your thinking is flawed......if only I knew how & why.

Await arrival of the Odds & Maths Geeks to solve that.

Tweeted Coral and this is what I got back.

@rubbish2407   16 Aug
@Coral Does your any player to do the Mobot bet for live games include Cardiff City on Friday night?

@Coral @rubbish2407 yes, applies to any domestic match shown live on British TV this weekend
10:02 AM - 16 Aug 12 via web

Thanks Rubbish.

Well that is simply bizarre! The world is changing so fast - I never knew that Friday was part of the weekend, it was a weekday when I grew up!

Anyway, thanks for the Tip, & good luck us.

"5pm Friday the weekend starts here!". Wasn't that a famous saying in the Swinging Sixties?

Colloquially, yes.

But I mean, really, weeks are divided into 5 weekdays, & two weekend days, & I'm astonished that a bookmaker is being kind enough to give us 50% more weekend days.

Where will it all end?

Will Thursday soon be the new Friday, will it soon last until Monday?

Bleurgh, nothing makes sense any more.

I would be surprised if it does include Friday's match.

Bet is timed to suspend at noon on Saturday.

He's forgetting to account for the days you lose. £45 profit but £30 loss etc.

Obviously 2 holes in 1 over 2 days would be better if you did daily but from history it seems unlikely.

That sounds much more logical. (You are saying the bet can be placed UNTIL Noon Saturday).

Well we are on "traditionally" now. Worryingly, there has not been one yet.

You return £55 or £85 for each tenner, but staked £40, winning £15 or £45.
Us old guys know that 9/2 twice and 15/2 twice = 68%
If it was 50% then the bet is the same , with the freeroll of a second or more holes in one.
You would be willing to pay a small premium but not 18%,and I'm also ignoring the diff odds on diff days
