Footnote to the "Ryder Cup Captain" Tip - McGinley is now even money. (S*y Bet lovers can volley that one in).

So we missed the market, it's too late now. 2/1 was value (imo), Evens not so much.

Julian Clary hits odds on for CBB.

Waiting for the word from the guru for when to green out.

Tyvm.

Someone recommended it before Guru did, iirc!

:-)

Top bombing from Clary. Nasty sense of humour, very funny

Have clolaid now, you can get less than 1.6 now.  Cheers CBB Guru and whoever else put it up.

More importantly, is he worth watching the show for?

With regards to Fellainis bet in the late nineties, early 2000's I had a commission agent who bet bets on for me and he was, quite frankly the best i have ever dealt with in terms of getting on.  He was in his nineties and would you give me credit but if the bet was an ante post one he would insist that I paid up front.  I was puzzled about this so asked him and he told me straight up.  "Son, I am 93 and could pop my clogs any day and if I do i don't want the missus having to bother herself collecting".  For similar reasons it is probably unfair to give Tikay ante post bets.

Lol excellent Post Stu. Wink

Honestly, that factor DOES increasingly enter my thinking, in fact I said it to someone last night. And I meant it. It's not sad, its just a fact of life.

I'm a bit miffed with the comparision to a 93 year old though. I'm not even near retirement age yet.

:-) The same fella had an embargo on bets between 11am and 1130am because that is when he had a bath.  Just wouldn't happen now and the world is a poorer place for it imo.

Ahh, well in my case, my daily "embargo" is between 3pm & 5pm. I've got an allotment to tend.

I'm doing tonight's Show, too, so I need to disappear now. My onions need planting.

I smile everytime I hear about you "attending your allotment". Around here we use that expression refers or a girls "lady garden" Smiley

Herbie - I had an animated discussion in the car last week about where you would go for a Saturday night if forced.

The alternatives were Scunny, Hull or Doncaster.  I went for Scunny but nearly plumped for Donny.  Hull came dead last.

Hmmm now that's a hard one. I'm too old to really enjoy a night out clubbing in any it those places. It's just too hard too much of an effort to enjoy yourself deep amongst the type of revellers that frequent all three places. I much prefer and evening of couples, 5 or 6 couples is ideal,in a nice restaurants chatting and laughing   the evening away.

San Pietro in Scunthorpe is my choice although hull does have some decent ones

Do you all put your keys in a bowl at the end of the night?

Red - Was your guy called Sonny?

I remember one day he went into a shop and asked for a nice looking ew double. The lady apologised and told him she'd have to ring up. The guy at the other end of the phone asked if it was a reg. He then asked

 "Does he have a dog?"

"Yes she said, he's a lovely old man and I'm giving his lovely dog a bowl of water".

"Tell the nice old man he can fuck off with his ew doubles and his lovely dog." said the man from Ladbrokes trading.
