I'm only talking a stray £5 each way at 150-1 (which is my recommendation tikay)

get several months watching his progress, and I would think a shorter price along the way as he he continues to improve

Going toe to toe with Shaun Murphy currently on BBC2 and its terrific to see him playing so well

Assuming he is an outsider in the final, aren't we better just putting a tenner on the nose?

Cheers for the tip, have got on.

I've had £30 ew at 150/1 - clearly I am a bad punter at PP

Confirmation of my continuing position next to the frozen peas has been given

I'll be interested to see how Brecel gets on today as at the moment I would have Murphy as a "bridge too far" untill he has a few more miles on the clock.

Much prefer TightEnd's bet sizing.

The lad is in form now but April is miles away. Moreover, the World Champs are far and away the hardest for underdogs to win because of the length and intensity of the matches.

Finally, what do we know of Brecel's matchplay, which is crucial in the World Champs? Dott and Ebdon were nowhere near the best players in the draw when they won but they were excellent matchplayers.

Too much talent all the way down the draw now and - like it or not - the extra opportunity to play has improved the standard.

Carter is a matchplayer and the price would be great if he were well enough.

I like Ali Carter at 40-1.  Seems really happy in himself at the moment and free from his illness (Krohns disease?) and has had deep runs in the past without getting over the winning line?  That price could look massive after a few rounds.

Carter is almost the nut match player in the long distance games isn't he and probably one of those worse off in the first to 5 crap shoots as he just plays so solidly he forces plenty of mistakes in the longer games. The problem betting him now for an event in April is his health, if he gets unlucky and he isn't good then he probably wouldn't win. It might be better to see how he is then and take a shorter price if he is fully fit and as mentioned there is also still a chance Ronnie could play to lenghten the rest of the market.

I hope Carter wins this week tho  thumbs up

Yep - the health issue as always is a factor unfortunately.  I think he's a massive runner this week in top nick though.  I'm piling in every match - he's was dog against Bingham today (who admittedly in sparkling form).

IGNORE THIS brain is slow today.  Each way is best if he is an outsider in the final.

Luca Brecel at 17, obviously going to be a superstar in Snooker.Got a great natural potting game, superb temperament and his safety is getting there

All emotion aside, and knowing he has to qualify in, what price would you want for a sneaky interest in the World championship this year?

best price is 150/1

http://www.oddschecker.com/snooker/world-championship/world-snooker-championship/winner

It's too big at 150/1 for sure. He looks likely to be a contender for World Championship in years to come, why not this year.

That's a strange market this year tho as it has Stephen Lee in the list who hopefully will finally be unable to play in it and Ronnie not quoted by the firms( but they are still taking loads of % in their books) who technically could still play in it. If Lee misses it won't make much difference but if Ronnie does decide he wants to play then everyone in the field gets bigger.

Just had a look on Eurosport.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Anand has beaten Jones so my bet would have lost. I'm calling that a win then Smiley

McShane is very short of time compared to Kramnik in a complicated position (14 mins to make 20 moves, with Kramnik having an hour and ten minutes on his clock)

Carlsen is slightly behind against Adams - game has gone as expected - but I would expect him to hold.

Nakamura is in good shape against Polgar although the material is still level.

We want McShane and Carlsen to draw from here.

Kramnik is turning the screw against McShane (that's a metaphor, not a chess manoeuvre) but Carlsen's position has improved slightly, such that I can see him going for a long grind to see if he can outplay Adams.

If Carlsen pulls off a win, it would be with Black, which is massive for our bet, as it increases the lead over the field (like away goals counting double). Very long way to go before that becomes a reality. Draw still most likely result.

11/8 spurs to win to nil tonight against an awful Panathanaikos side. Betfair.

Spurs without Bale. Friedel starts in goal. Adebayor available and will play. The Greek side need to win to go through. Could be a long night if we score early.

Thoughts?
