Kramnik is turning the screw against McShane (that's a metaphor, not a chess manoeuvre) but Carlsen's position has improved slightly, such that I can see him going for a long grind to see if he can outplay Adams.

If Carlsen pulls off a win, it would be with Black, which is massive for our bet, as it increases the lead over the field (like away goals counting double). Very long way to go before that becomes a reality. Draw still most likely result.

Adams Blundered on move 40, which he made with 3 seconds on the time control. Carlsen looks to be winning I think

Nothing to bet tonight, but Bwin releases all their lines 2-3 days in advance and I think we should be on one.

OKC Thunder -6 vs LA Lakers

Thunder are in very good form at the minute on a 6 game winning streak and are 15-4 in the season (9-2 at home) Whereas the Lakers are misfiring and really struggling to get any sort of momentum in the league 9-10 in the season (2-5 on the road)

Last season the Thunder beat the Lakers 6-2 and won 4/4 at home, the only games the Lakers won were one by 3 points and one in overtime both at staples centre.

I think this is such a good line its too good to pass up and wait for other books to release theirs tomorrow as I expect them to have Thunder as bigger favourites.

Lakers defence has been woeful and non existant at times and Thunder are #1 in points scored so far this season, i believe they just have too much in the locker for the Lakers to cope with.

Suggest £110 with Bwin Oklahoma City Thunder -6

The line for this is now -7......

Trust me, if I get on early, I get it wrong, if I wait, I still get it wrong!

So....I have taken a chance & got on at -7, but halved the stake.

If you think -7 is good value, I'll put another £55 on.

OKC (-7) over the LA Lakers, £55 @ 10/11, BWin. The game takes place @ 0235 SATURDAY.

ON

12/6/2012 6:53 PM Single bet   Los Angeles Lakers at Oklahoma City Thunder (Spread) Oklahoma City Thunder -7 ? 55.00 91/100

I'll be offline all evening, as I'm working tonight, so I cannot process any further bets until around 1am.

Have a good evening.

Huge. Kramnik will likely convert from his position, so that blunder could be critical.

Edit: if you are watching the game, Carlsen wants the queens off. Adams wants to use his queen to keep checking the black king, so that Carlsen is unable to make progress.

Trivia fact for the future:

Sanfreece Hiroshima 1-0 Auckland City

The first time goal-line technology has been employed in a Fifa-sanctioned event (Club World Cup)

Odds Tikay slips that in tonight?

Carlsen wins.

Luke will do exceptionally well to hold Kramnik to a draw so it is likely to be as you were with those two separated by two points (on the 3/1/0 scoring system). However, the Black win is a big deal.

Do they play a round robin and the league winner is the winner, or do the top 2 play a final ?

Round robin and person with the most points wins.

Nakamura did win, so four decisive games today. Great stuff for the spectators. Really has been some thrilling chess (in before oxymoron) this week.

It makes me come out in a nasty rash to defend bookmakers, but to be fair to Ladbrokes chess matches in a tournament, especially in the last couple of rounds, can be seen as related bets..

Morning chaps.  A couple for discussion for the weekend:

Brentford v MK Dons.  I was expecting this to be a pick em affair, but I see Brentford are underdogs at home.  Prices around the 2/1 mark look generous to me considering they beat Sheff Utd at home recently and seem more consistent.  MKD have my respect but I don't think they should be as favoured as they are here at Griffin Park.

Also - I can't be having Forest at evens against a team as solid as Sean Dyche's Burnley.  Forest have had some abysmal performances this season at home and I don't rate O'Driscoll at all.  Think this would be one where I would be looking to lay the hosts rather than pile into the away team though.

Thoughts on the above?

I love O'Driscoll. Why don't you rate him?

That must be it. Still find it a bit odd but there we go. Their policy saved me money today after all.

Daily Summary as at 0830, Friday 7th December

We lost £55 yesterday, continuing our dismal December.

The only positive this morning is that MereSpread is back, & so the December Spready is now in place, & all (bar one) bets are now recorded. I had missed three bets over the weekend, which Vince detected & included. Unfortunately all 3 were losers. I have also invested a liability of £10 to protect our Pujura bet, details of which I’ll send to Vince today.
