A very strong Celtic team out tonight at Arbroath. No Hooper makes Lassad ew 1/3 the odds at 9/2 look very inviting. We are getting 6/4 to score at anytime (best price anytime is 11/10).

£20 ew with 365.

Not one golden ferret.

I feel duty-bound as a member of the fair-weather golfer's union to point out that golden ferrets only exist if there is an agreement to play ferrets in a particular match ergo not all holed bunker-shots can be considered to be golden ferrets.

In a regular fourball match the stakes are arranged on the first tee and often they will be something like 50p ($1K if you're flushy) bits, birdies and ferrets, bits being nearest to the pin on short-holes, birdies being self-explanatory, and ferrets being up-and-down from a bunker for a par.

Thus the rare golden ferret will be a holed buker-shot for a birdie or better which wins two bits.

That's interesting, as I understood a ferret to be a chip in from off the green (i.e., it goes down the hole) and a golden ferret going in from the bunker (either a sand reference or just that they were like gold).

The murky world of golfistry, eh?

Is it true Bogey used to be par?

Ah, but do you know what a Gilligan and a whoosh are?

Both excellent additions to gambling on a game of golf.

Love this sort of stuff (you'll be astonished to hear).

My guess would be a Gilligan is the opposite of a Mulligan, so that would be making you play a shot again if you did it really well?

A whoosh has - so to speak - passed me by.

Correct with gilligan.

A "whoosh" means you can shout whoosh at any moment when your opponent is playing a shot.

Very useful to keep this one up your sleeve for the later holes because opponent often rushes his shot expecting you to put him off!

Thanks Mr Teacake.

a) The price is now 4/1.

b) They maxed me @ £5 EW. Wink

I have taken that, but can stick some on elsewhere at 7/2 if you think it worth it, though I've no probs with leaving it as is if 7/2 is a bad price.

We have £5 EW @ 4/1, Lassad Nouioui, Celtic, FGS.

ON

Lassad Nouioui    Arbroath v Celtic
First Goalscorer  12/12/2012  4/1
1/3 Odds  To Run
Unit Stake 5.00  EW Single Stake 10.00

Ha!! Brilliant. Doesn't work so well in chess.

Swansea = dyer the main value in the bet , STARTING

Arbroath = no idea cant seem to find them anyway they are playing celtic so presumably not BENCH
Catania = Giovanni Marchese defender scores about 2 a season but at least usually plays MATCH OVER
Real Madrid = marcelo not in squad tonight shame as gets the odd goal
Sevilla = Hedwiges Maduro defender again hasnt scored for a while has not been playing to much but as they have a league on friday night i presume he has a chance tonight WINNING 3-0 HALF TIME NOT IN SQUAD Sad
Juventus = Giovinco small striker who scores more than his share according to goal.com is starting tonight NOT STARTED YET

His surname would be a great way of getting rid of a rack full of vowels in Scrabble.
