Super tempted to put up the mighty Posh to win at half- and full-time away at Wolfs on Boxing Day @ 17-2 with Sid.
The two wins v Cardiff and Bolton have not been flukes. They've happened because we currently have an outstanding midfielder in George Thorne, because Gabby Zak and Bostwick have played together at the back, because fatty Tomlin and Boydy are in top form, and because we have a busy young striker in Dwight Gayle.
Worth a slippery twenty maybe.
Prefer 17-2 to the 4-1 outright because it's unlikely to be a low scorer and I still wouldn't fancy us to come from behind.
Because it's Christmas, & despite a bad day yesterday, we are going with that because you used the expression "
slippery twenty
" rather than the oh-so-stale hackneyed "
cheeky £20
", which would have earned you a rebuke of the harshest kind.
This bet actually exceeds hector's "Yuletide Gamble" in the Optimistic Stakes.
Merry Xmas to Chomps & Family, & all your Fenland brothers & sisters. (And the thousands of aunts, uncles, etc.....)
We have £20 on Peterborough HT-FT in the away game at Molieneux on Boxing Day, @ 17/2 with Stan James.
ON
£20.00 Single
Selection Price
Wolves v Peterborough
Double Result
Peterborough/Peterborough 17/2
Total stake £ 20.00
Estimated return £ 190.00
Full stake £ 20.00
Full estimated return £ 190.00

Daily Report as at 0905, Sunday December 23rd
.
We lost £35 yesterday. Not very good really, though as so often the case, it could have been far worse.
Two of our bets were postponed, the Notts Co & Wycombe games.
RVB let us down (-£30), as did Wes Newton (-£50).
The hector Yuletide Gamble remains in play – just. (Villa to beat Chelsea today, @ 9/1).
So our sole win was horsey’s remarkable spot, the Bilbao – Zaragoza “Fouls”, which won hard-held, for a £45 profit.
We managed to swrve a £100 Darts loser, & the Paul Nicholls good thing, in the latter, the ground was awful, & the first three home were all 25/1. Ugh, & phew.
Must do better.

Glad I didn't post the nicholls nag for Fred, and apologies to anyone that may have had a slippery twenty!
Having stated that his likabilty had moved me from a gambling lifelong dislike of the fella, I can now safely resort to type and go back to my anti Nicholls stance.
The world feels like balance has been restored.

Never mind that, tell us about Dynaste for the Gold Cup.
You put us on at 380, now priced at 25/1.
What is that all about?
Got any Update for us?
This could be a right purler!
£10 @ 380, jeez.

Well, I think we need a blinding performance on Boxing Day in the Feltham. Then hopefully we shall get the annual round of "strike while the iron is hot" merchants forcing the betfair price into line with the bookies price. Then we can look at a trade.
If that doesn't work via the usual avenues, then I shall be in the company of Mr Pipe the following day, as we hopefully cheer home Sona Sasta in Welsh National(more later).
Maybe I can persuade him to start gently talking about Gold Cups, even only to help our cause.......
Whilst on the subject of speculative bets, I couldn't help myself to a "kiss it goodbye" £20 on Big Bucks at 50s. Less than a week after he was reported to be out for the season PN was quoted yesterday as saying "we could easily have patched him up for the World Hurdle, but decided it was best to be safe". Which to my ears sound like the closer the get, and the hype intensifies, along with Nicholls desire to retain the Trainers title, if the horse makes good progress, 50s on the day could look a mighty fine lottery ticket. If not, I have wasted more on less, many times!
Would the Elders, and horse types care to comment on such frivolity?

Morning Mr T.
In an attempt to get back your Lucky 15 losses I am resorting to type and sticking to a rugby bet. Today Wasps play Sale at home in a game they should win. I would expect them to win comfortably if the weather was good as they play a solid expansive game. The try scorer markets vary massively and I think the market makers haven't really got a scooby what to make of it. Our old favourite " no try scorer " is as low as 5-1 in places which is ridiculous. Similarly the anytime scorer market is all over the place. I suggest we go for the Wasps winger Christian Wade to score at anytime as I believe the pitch may not be as bad as people anticipate. His price varies from 8/13 with Coral to 15/8 with Paddy Power.
Suggest Wade to score anytime £20 @ 15/8 Paddy Power.

Morning hector.
On the poker boards, they are busy "
flipping their shit
", whilst we exchange daily pleasantries on this thread. We inhabit a very broad church.
The Lucky 15 has not lost yet! 9/1 Villa, treble odds........
We have £20 @ 15/8 with Paddy Power (not Corals, who go 8/13), Christian Wade AnyTime TryScorer.

I know Mr T. And we took the time to educate Aaron and turn him into a tipster who looks for value. At least they can't get too upset about today's calendar choices can they ?
