TGB just jumps and jumps and jumps. Lovely to watch

I thought he fiddled a couple especially early.

Not sure whether that might be jockey error but I still put TGB above a lot of the field in the big races for jumping consistency. Just doesn't have that extra punch in the last furlong that some of his rivals do.

How the heck has Bale not scored three today?

I am backing Newcastle at 6.0 and laying Spurs (I laid 1.7 but it can be done at better).

Bit late to mention it I know but the theory is going around that Spurs depend heavily on Bale who had a tough match in the week while the Newcastle players who don't really play internationally were busy relaxing.

Personally I hadn't been looking during the week and I was just a bit surprised at the prices.

Would have happily bet them at 4/1.

Sissoko, santon, colocini, debuchy, Krul all were away

Not sure what you are saying? Is it a bit late to get a bet? (questions for Pleno).

I have been mulling posting this for weeks and have missed a couple of prices so am going to suggest we do it now.  Brandt Snedeker to win the Masters e/w at 33/1.  Quite simply he is probably the best player on tour at the moment outside of Tiger.  To give an example this week He was a 4/6 favourite in a 72 hole match bet against Westwood and yet LW is 25/1 to win the Masters and Snedeker is 33/1.  This is one of those markets that don't react quickly enough to current form and he is playing out of his skin since he won the fedex cup last year.  Be interested in Phil's view.

He is first on my team sheet each week, alone with Olesen in the European Tour. Certainly think 33s will prove to be long gone come the day, so has to be value.

Morning Mr T.

I loved your Jackdaw pictures.

On other matters today Scotland play Italy, for our Wales bet I think we would prefer a Scotland win but it is not a must. I think Italy are being over rated after a win against an imploding, lackadaisical, under prepared bunch of CESM's. But backing Scotland at odds on holds no appeal.

Instead I think I have found a decent value bet in the anytime try scorer market. I thought Italy looked poor defensively chasing their own kicks leaving huge amounts of space for the counter attack. Scotland have an astute coach who will have seen this and with Scotlands willingness to run the ball against England then I think there are tries to be had for Scotlands back 3. Of the 3 of them I think Stuart Hogg at fullback has the most appeal at the odds available.

Suggest Stuart Hogg to score a try at anytime £15 @ 10/3 Paddy Power or Ladbrokes.

Morning hector.

The Jackdaw photos - thank you! Doing stuff like that fill me with pleasure.

Love the thinking behind that bet, & we are on board.

Afternoon Mr T.

The Welsh game later today should be an open game with the pressure on both teams to win and both will believe that running the ball is their best option. By far the best chance of Wales scoring are their wings who are big and fast as opposed to their centres who are just big.

Suggest Cuthbert as anytime scorer £10 @ 3-1 Blue Square.

Thanks reds.

Incredibly, the 33/1 has gone now (or at least for now) but we can't dilly dally any longer, & we have had some 25/1 for now. It'd be nice to build a Masrers book in due course, & our Golf Experts, of whom we have a few sizzlers, will help us.

For now, we have £25 WIN @ 25/1, BetFred, Brandt Snedeker to win The Masters.

silvinianco conti again brushed them all aside giving weight as well to tgb, cant see the giant bolster  beating it anywhere soon.
the giant bolster is a terrible jumper compared to conti, at that level you cant afford jumping errors .
anyone with ante post bets at nice prices must be well happy after that

An artyish one, if the mood takes you.

It would happen to be the Grammys tomorrow night and the night when those folks across the pond pat themselves on the back and pretend they're the best nation on Earth. This year there has been an increase in the British invasion and Adele will likely have an extra trophy for her cabinet with Performance of the Year.

I'm proposing one non-Brit tho.

Frank Ocean is regarded by the arty sorts as something pretty special and a gifted, soulful sort. He has the misfortune of being up against artists in their nut categories, where you can see him not getting anything. There is one exception, however, where he is only a small dog: Best New Artist.

fun. (Note the spelling) are slight favourites at 11/8 with Mr Ocean at 13/8.

The winners are decided by a huge ballot of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences members and few would argue Frank Ocean deserves a gong this year. It is hard to pick him above any of the others and I suspect this is one of those situations where he gets the nod because enough voters think he should get something on the night.

In isolation, there's nothing to suggest the market is wrong, but I believe there's something to be said for the theory that the voters want to reward a big year for a very cool choice in Frank Ocean in a category against a very poppy band like fun..

fun. will pick up awards elsewhere on the night and are bigger favourites in other categories.

Recommend a drop on Frank Ocean at 13/8 with Ladbrokes.
