While I haven't got time to research tips at the moment, I have found time to research one of the tipsters.

It turns out two people I regard as the best judges I know both happen to have worked with Mr Graham Wheldon.

Their opinions are that, aside from being atop bloke, he is "super shrewd", "one of the best judges I know" and "when he says to bet something you should bet it. Heavily."

So, when Chompy advises Fred to have £50 oin something, we should be having £100 on, not £20.

Imo.

Camel has more comebacks than Sinatra.

Welcome comebacks, but comebacks nonetheless

I am a non contributing railer now.

A taker rather than a giver.

If you like.

That'll be the new sig line sorted then Smiley

Hold fire on any major Sweden puntage for now. There are a few reasons for wanting to oppose it, even though it's the best song. More after shredded wheat...

You'll have to remind me Keith - as far as I recall, we have backed his recent stuff for the full amount.

If we have not, it is a palp by me. Wink

Daily Summary, @ 1000, Sunday March 10th

We lost £40 yesterday. Considering everything went so awry, much better than feared.

Looks bad (is bad, I suppose) but not so bad really. No less than 11 bets completed, & only one won, which was (part of) our biggest bet of the day, so that was handy. All the losers were small amounts. We also had to bite the bullet from some Ante-Post stuff on the 6N, but this is balanced by some good ante-post bets still in play.

We placed a fee more bets too, including, I regret, some Eurovision nonsense.

Details to follow on yesterdays action, plus Cheltenham Update.

BIG bet today on Spurs, £100 @ 3/1. That would be a useful bink.

Sweden for the ESC...

On the plus side, the boy can sing, is super cute and has the best song of those already qualified imo.

Also, despite what the Trondheimian sayed, there won't be any problem with it picking up votes from eastern bloc countries. Ten international juries were on duty last night and only Cyrpus (1) and the UK (0) failed to give him 8, 10 or 12pts. Ukraine gave him 10. So that theory is garbage then.

On the negative side...

Getting a high draw is important and the draw won't be done until after the semis. If he lands a single-figure stall, he'll be struggling.

It's definitely a positive to go through the semi-finals these days. Getting a song two listens instead of one helps. Robin got three listens in Melodifestivalen, one in the semi, one in the second chance and then in the final.

The Scandies are strong this year, with Denmark, Norway and Sweden all at the top of the market, which could split the votes a bit.

I've had enough on for now and prob won't have any more until the semis in May.

Thanks Mr Rebuff Champ.

Just checked back, & it appears you suggested we burn invest £50 on Sweden, I thought it was £20, (& so answering Keith's cryptic point) my bad.

Should we have the extra £30 still, or wait until the Semis?

Stick with £20 for now.

Still waiting for the Azerbaijan and Italy songs to come in yet. Both are likely to be runners on recent evidence.

Confirmed. That was the reason I only punted £20, actually. Psychic, me.

Yesterday.......

TEN bets were struck off as losers.

Ante Post

Ireland to win 6N, -£20

Wales Wooden Spoon, -£10

Regular Singles

Swanson to score. This was a wedding/funeral job. I blame Chompy. -£15.

Wolves, DNB. -£10

Cuthbert Try -£5

North Try -£5

Trailblazer -£10

Pallett, Darts -£10

Rugby MOTM, we were truly robbed. -£10 (2 x -£5).

Winner(s)

Just ONE winner, though we have combined 2 related bets.

Tighty gave us Ireland, £50 @ 11/10, with a £5 saver @ 23/1 the Draw. The saver was the saviour of our day, £115 was massive for us yesterday, & kept the numbers semi-respectable on an otherwise terrible day.

Very well done, yet again, to Tighty the Diety.
