England runs After Dunedin

Cook 126
Compton 117
Trott 97
Finn ! 76
Bell 50
Prior 46

Not great, but not terminal given the match did not go as we would have hoped

Wellington begins mid-week

Thanks Tighty, happy with that really, Trott's 50 odd was crucial to the bet. We could be in a much worse spot here.

Still liking the bet.

Note KP's abysmal performance so far.

Top stuff Moony, so are we #1 Seed now? Is Monday just a question of seeding, or is it a "must win"? redarmi did explain it yesterday, but it is all so confusing.
[/quote]

No Problem Tikay happy to do these little updates, we will still be #1 on monday and unless we get very badly beaten by st mary's we should still get a 1 seed although if we do lose and Indiana,Duke,Kansas & Georgetown all win their respective conference tourneys we may drop to a 2 seed.

6 Nations

Not gone too well overall, but that bink yesterday helped immensely. If Tuilagi could run a couple of tries in today, it would make all the difference to our 6N performance.

Basketball

The zags did it again overnight 66-48. We have £20 @ 33/1, this has been tremendous value, & fun, already.

We also have LeBrun as MVP, £40 @ 7/4, & that is loking very good indeed now.

Daft Hats

Our man is over 3 minutes clear going into the almost irreleavant final day with it's Mickey Mouse stages, & we are now long-odds on to seal this win. (£20 @ 7/4). Gawd knows how Phil found this bet, but fingers crossed, it'll do nicely.

Tennis

Federer coasted through his first round match 6-2, 6-3. We really are playing to get him in the Final, we have "half odds". £15 EW @ 11/2.

New Zealand v England Cricket

No change in the Bowler Market, Anderson leads by 1. £40 @ 9/4.

In the Bat Bet, we escaped lightly, & Trott remains in reasonable shape. £15 @ 9/2.

Football.

QPR won. Bad.

Villa won. Good.

Wolves lost. Good.

Doncaster won. Good.

Walsall drew. Don't even ask.

York lost. Bad.

Spurs carry £100 of our money today. Behave yourself Bale, & do the business.

Sweden for the ESC...

On the plus side, the boy can sing, is super cute and has the best song of those already qualified imo.

Also, despite what the Trondheimian sayed, there won't be any problem with it picking up votes from eastern bloc countries. Ten international juries were on duty last night and only Cyrpus (1) and the UK (0) failed to give him 8, 10 or 12pts. Ukraine gave him 10. So that theory is garbage then.

On the negative side...

Getting a high draw is important and the draw won't be done until after the semis. If he lands a single-figure stall, he'll be struggling.

It's definitely a positive to go through the semi-finals these days. Getting a song two listens instead of one helps. Robin got three listens in Melodifestivalen, one in the semi, one in the second chance and then in the final.

The Scandies are strong this year, with Denmark, Norway and Sweden all at the top of the market, which could split the votes a bit.

I've had enough on for now and prob won't have any more until the semis in May.

It maybe acceptable in the Fens, but one man calling someone of the same gender "super cute" would have all sorts of people knocking at their door round here!

I fear I am being subjected to some unsavoury stuff in my quest for punting knowledge

Also (if I remember a thousand pages of Fred past...) the answer to "What connects the Eurovision Song Contest and Southwell's All Weather track?"

If he was half as good as some say, he'd write a book on the effects of the draw.

Not seen the revised Entries for Tuesday, Neil, hope it worked out OK for you. I dabbled, as suggested, first thing this morning. Paddy Power were not very accommodating to me though, I'm pretty badly restricted on some stuff there.

The World hurdle horse should be Oscar Whisky?

Lennon has a hamstring injury and is doubtful for Spurs. He tends to play well against Liverpool as well, perhaps due to their formation suiting good wide-men.

Defoe looked about half a yard short on Thursday, but will be better for the run out.

Might explain the drift but I really wouldn't worry about it. I'd be amazed if Fred has made a bad bet, here.

The Champion has ended up with 9-runners which was a slight surprise. I thought eight for sure with a chance of seven running. Usual trainer lies with Khyber King "definite" for the Coral Cup.

Still pretty happy with my bets though.

Apologies Chris. I should have said the County Hurdle a race which he was 8/1 favourite for. He said in the preview night at Lambourn last week:

"Khyber Kim ran well last time, he is more likely to run in the County Hurdle".

Obviously plans can change but I thought the big chance in the County would make him go there and the Betfair market looked that way.

 Got one wrong.
