Hi Red....what would be the best way of checking whether prices had already moved? Is there historical data somewhere?

Simple way is to click on the team on oddschecker and it gives you a history for every bookie and the time the price moved but they are also in blue on odds checker ,ain page if they have shorted and a pinkish colour if they are drifting.

Yeah thought as much.

Does anyone know if Nuno won his 3 Ball today?

I believe he was playing with that Craig Lee chap that Fred was also on in the match-bet who shot -5, so I think not.

This has me thinking a bit about these kind of bets.  Surely for a player like this his biggest advantage over the field is going to be in the first round because he is very familiar with the course and they are not (although all will have played a practise round presumably).  By the fourth round every player and caddy will have a decent feel for the course and his advantage will be magnified also they are much less likely to suffer from nerves which are very likely to affect them if they are in contention on Sunday.  I would have though that the best strategy would be to bet them to either lead after the first round or in their Thursday threeball.  Obviously if you bet them in their threeball you arent going to get a sexy 300/1 winner but you will be more likely to get an outlier price if you shop around as there is no market to speak of on betfair on them and you will reduce variance.

For anyone who was on, Golden State Warriors are out losing 4-2 to San Antonio. Great sweat though for a big priced dog.

This is reverse after timing and I hate to rain on our parade but I just saw the bet on Grasshoppers and I really think we should have passed on it.  The info on Mattuso hit the market yesterday when they were general 7/4 shots and it became clear they were going to play youth and reserve players and let go some of their key players.  We bet it at 2.15 20 minutes before the game.  If you are going to act on info like this it is absolutely vital you do so before it has generally hit the market.  By the point we bet it the teams had probably been out so any syndicate with an interest in the game that had somehow missed the info would have known it by then.

Hi Red your absolutely right, but I only stuck it up after getting the text from my mate.

I didn't do any research and just went with his info presuming it was good.

It wasnt really a criticism of you and wasnt meant to read that way just a general point that when you get good info like that you have to check to see if it is in the price and, on this occasion, I happened to know it was so it was a good example to use.

Good point Red..... and thanks maldini for an easy winner in the end  thumbs up

Any thoughts of the England total at 354? Looks a bit big, new Ball due in the morning with some swing on a slow outfield.

Too high by about 50-60 runs.

+1

 and overcast this morning

Daily Report

Loss on Month -£88.68

Outstanding Bets £1359.50

Overall Profit £1073.79

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=24

Yesterday we won just over £50 with two winning bets and a sole loser

In an excellent Golf day Fellaini85's had a winner McDowell won at the Matchplay 5 and 3 - +£40

Grasshoppers beat Sion 4-0 away for Maldini32 to record a £34.50 win at 23/20

In the sole loser Kvitova failed to overcome her androgynous opponent and the Milkman found his Gold top curdled for the day - £24

Lee beat Karlberg by five shots in a tournament match bet and we have 355 at 10/11 (fellaini again)

Looking at other bets the Claypole's Calypso Golf bet, Henriques at 250-1 is in the top 20 at -1 after a round, seven shots off the lead.

An Aidan O'Brien horse lost a Derby trial, to a 33-1 shot leaving only four A O'B raiders in the hunt to try and topple Dawn Approach and sink Chompy's bet

In the cricket (stat alert) yesterday's Test action was to the IPL as the IPL is to financial propriety.

160-4 off 80 overs included 421 dot balls. Since Cricinfo started recording (stat alert) the data in 2001 this is the most dot balls England have played in any Test Innngs of 80 overs and the second highest number of dot balls of any country over 80 overs in a Test Innings in that same period

Attritional might be one word for it, boring might be another. It was a dig in day. Optimistic about the Swann bet on this pitch

In County Cricket Middlesex are all over Somerset like a rash. Taking 15 Somerset wickets yesterday, forcing the follow on and warm favourites to record another win

Northants got 4 batting points but weather is likely to stop them recording another win this time against the weakest county of the lot Leicestershire. Encouraging stuff though, and we are well in the hunt.

Cricket aside, our main interests today are Golf related. Henriques as mentioned above and Milkman has us on McDowell for the Bulgarian Bounty at 17/2.

I tend not to point out the spelling mistakes in tikay's daily reports because my keyboard would melt but I think that the word that you were looking for is androgynous.

Also, there is nothing androgynous about Ms Stosur. Smiley

Just a point Mr Tightend, the Craig Lee bet was a tournament matchbet, not an 18 hole one. So while a decent start, is still a open bet.

William Hill mobile have got another offer today.  You get a free bet if your horse finishes 2nd in a TV race today.  That is roughly equivalent to getting 7/2 about a 5/2 chance, or 8/1 about a 7/1 chance.  Bets have to be on mobile and it is £25 max per race.

You can frequently find 7/1 horses at Hills at 8/1 elsewhere and 7/2 about a 5/2 chance is mathematically better value.  So we should concentrate on short priced horses on Hills that are close to best price.

Suggest £25 on each of the following horses at Hills mobile.

Quatuor 7/2 York 1.45
Sir John Hawkwood 5/2 York 2.15
Top Trip 7/2 York 2.45

Winsili 6/4 Newbury 2.00 (is 7/4 elsewhere but effective 5/2>>>>>7/4)

We have 7 days to take free bets so no need to rush.

The "androgynous" jibe was down to an earlier post likening her to Hotshot Hamish or Roy Race.

I know.
There were also several subsequent posts along similar lines.
