In other news Laura Robson looked quite impressive in her 6-3 6-2 win over Beygelzimer at Eastbourne.
There may be opportunities for backing her to do something at Wimbledon.

Anything in particular?

Like, WIN?

Surely not!

Not the whole thing but I'm sure that she'll manage to win a match or two.
Depending on the draw there may be scope for her to progress.
Probably unlikely that it will be mis-priced but we shall see.

On that note, am I right that Murray and Nadal would meet in the quarters?

It would depend on the draw (and seedings).

Assumed these had been done already?

Not sure about the seedings but the draw will be done on Friday.

tikay have pm u a link if it works out there

I cannot download either. I am on my Company Lappie at present, & I need "Admin Rights" from Head Office to download the necessary File Updates & HD viewer thing. Not sure they'd be impressed if I rung home & asked them to sort a punting link for me.....

Not being funny but how do they think u get all that knowledge u display so superbly in these punting preview shows without watching a bit of racing? Want me to have a word?

Ha!

You make a fair point Mr K.

I have two more of these "Betting Preview" Shows lined up next month - Goodwood, & The Open Golf.

God help you all.....but amazingly, the Betting Preview Shows get good ratings. Who says I can't run a bluff?

Thanks, HP. Same problem as with karabiner's link: just too powerful for my 'phone. Will do a rethink for tomorrow. A couple of the chaps I'm out here with have iPads, I think...

I did get one of them to Download, but then it said "you have insufficient memory".

I don't recall being told that before.

Is her coaching situation sorted yet?  That's been all over the place, and she needs a 'firm hand' and some guidance on how not to implode in crucial games.  Certainly got the talent, it's just a question of whether she has the temperament and mindset to succeed in the slams.  Would love to see her do well this year.

She's being coached by Miles MacLagan who used to work with Andy Murray.

Hopefully it works out for her, but might be too soon to reap the benefits of that before Wimbledon?

Someone please explain to me how Tom Quealey ever gets a ride.  Absolutely destroyed Tiger Cliff there

BBC website was a little more subtle:

Well Sharp's turn of foot over the last few furlongs proved too much for Tiger Cliff to cover. Lady Cecil's challenger had pace, but just had too much too do underneath Tom Queally.

Also says:

That is the first British winner of the meeting, stopping a run of four successive Irish successes. And even Well Sharp was owned by an Irishman (JP McManus), trained by an Irishman (Jonjo O'Neill) and ridden by an Irishman in Fran Berry.

Worryingly like the WSOP.

Think we must be holding on to most of our winnings as I think we got a place and free bet in the last race.  Think I might have a home for that free bet for tomorrow.  Think we have two, do one spare for Neil.

Update for tikay

It must have been a bookies benefit today, for with the exception of Dawn Approach a lot of hotpots (Animal Kingdom, Shea Shea, Tiger Cliff, Stubbs) got turned over today

Thanks to Doobs and Declaration of War we won £675 on the first race then lost £268 of it back in the next five (one place, and a free bet to come) for a Royal Ascot Day One profit of £407

Add that to the £55 profits from opposing the Lions earlier and today the thread has clawed back £462 of the month's losses

Four days of Royal Ascot to come, and this could swing a lot from here!

Could you clarify please for Justice day?

It says money back if Richard Hughes places, which he did on Anticipated

Is there a free bet as well?

At the moment I have put the bet in as money back and void on the spreadsheet, but not added the free bet
