yes, looks like being a great weekend. Will likely be balls of steel time on the greens if they get a lot faster.

Back to the golf then.

We have a ton of good sweats, but that does not include Sterne, for Top South Aftica Bloke, who looks like he will miss the cut.

Sweats

Furyk is now -7 and 14/1 (from 70/1 at the start)
Kuchar is -7 and 15/2 (from 33/1)
Stricker is -5 and 28/1 (from 50/1)
Garcia is -3 and still around 55/1, which is where he started
That is 4 of the top 10 in the betting
Of the others
Casey is -1 and 200/1 (from 150/1)
Jimenez, Moore and Matsuyama are on evens and monster prices, English is +3 and even bigger.
Watson and Sterne missed the cut.

No hole in one as yet.

Team Maths have 9 of the first 10 in the betting, unfortunately Duffner is the missing one.

Real Madrid play their last pre-season friendly on Saturday night. Madrid have been making quick work of a sides in pre-season and opponents Inter have an abysmal record in friendlies.

The best value in these games looks to be backing Madrid's starting 11 to lead at half time then see the game out.

Suggested bet: £20 on Madrid /FT @2.25 with Paddy Power or Bet365.

Unfortunately I haven't found a way to back all 4 teams in the Shergar Cup and guarantee a profit, but we should put a few bets though Hills Mobile this morning.  Guess we could be looking at getting our free bets onto the PGA.  You can never get enough runners in the PGA.

The 2.55 at Haydock looks fairly dirty from an each way perspective, but if you want to back half the field that is probably better for the shops.  I think we should put £48 on Telescope at 4/6.  We get £25 back if 2nd, it is bang on Betfair, and we get best odds guaranteed.  He just looks a class above here.

Wedding Ring looks good for £25 in the 3.35 at Newmarket at 3/1.  Think BigAdz said he never backs Spencer, but the maths is good.

Finally I did find one in the Shergar Cup, I think we should get Chesterfield at 11/4 in the 2.40.  Best odds is included, so we can take a price that isn't the best.

At some stage we should be looking at the favourite in the last there, but the price looks terrible vs Betfair at the minute.  Best Odds likely saves us though.  Edit.  Now Noble Deed is 5/2 in the 3.50 which is fine to take

Hills have the offer on all live Channel 4 races, so that would be a good place for others to look for value.

Daily Report

Loss on Month £107.50

Outstanding Bets £2856.58

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=28

Watching the Pros tear up a rain softened Oakhill in the PGA doesn't really feel quite right, not really the Test a major Championship should be. Presumably the course characteristics change a bit as it dries out and it becomes more of a test. If so, much could change

For now, our biggest bet on the event Mr Sterne has missed the cut for a loss of £75. In better news only two of the Maths Army are out, Bubba and the aforementioned Mr Sterne for -£20

In better news, in Kuchar, Furyk and Stricker there are three live sweats for the weekend. I don't think anyone would be surprised to see the leaderboard change substantially in the next 36 hours though, assuming a more normal Test. We'd like a hole in one too please. Would ahve thought a soft track would have been the ideal conditions for one, but here's hoping.

Other losers yesterday were the two Rugby League bets, Wigan and Salford. Salford looked a bit optimistic beforehand but with value odds to match. Wigan was placed before the team minus Sam Tomkins was announced. Probably didn't make a great deal of difference though, some of these teams are in preservation for Challenge Cup final and/or play-offs mode

Our only winner yesterday, Bayern and Borussia both scored in a BTTS bet for a £24 profit for McGlashan

In the Test Match England batted poorly and Australia bowled well on a slow pitch. The good news for our bet on the Australia Innings to come is a) its not easy to score quickly and b) there is something in it for the bowlers. On a longer term perspective, how bad have both batting teams been this series? Way below par. When Australia come at England in the winter they should prepare fast bouncy green tracks and I would make a team with 3 or 4 of Siddle/Harris/Bird/Pattinson/Starc a possibly favourite over England. One to bookmark for November

The Tampa Bay Rays had a nightmare last night. They were 6-0 up after 7 of the 9 innings with superstar pitcher David Price retiring to the hutch, job done. Soon, the NL Leading LA Dodgers had got it back to 6-3 against the Rays bullpen and then in the 9th they pulled it back to 6-6 and hit a walk off home run to win 7-6. Yuk

In better news in the AL central, Detroit actually won a game and the Royals beat the Red Sox to finally make some ground up on the Division leaders

Today, the Shergar Cup, the Test Cricket, a full round of Football league matches and the start of the Conference, the USPGA 3rd round and already some recommendations on the thread to consider

Thanks for the summary Doobs. Plenty to cheer on, we just need a good day today.

Is there any meaningful Big Brother news? Thought there was due to be an eviction last night? Are we still all present and correct?

Real Madrid play their last pre-season friendly on Saturday night. Madrid have been making quick work of a sides in pre-season and opponents Inter have an abysmal record in friendlies.

The best value in these games looks to be backing Madrid's starting 11 to lead at half time then see the game out.

Suggested bet: £20 on Madrid HT/FT @2.25 with Paddy Power or Bet365.

Thanks, time for a two- timer.

All the 2.25 has long gone, this is odds-on almost everywhere now, but BetVictor remain a standout 21/20, so we took a bit of that.

£20 @ 21/20, BetVictor, Real Madrid HT-FT over Inter Milan.

Details later.

Yuh, all good on the BB front.

Hazel got the boot, which is good news for Gina. The pair have been ripping each other apart for days. We want happy Gina back for the run-in.

Dexter got a mixed reaction when his name was called but is into around 6/4 for top man. Sam eased a bit and Gina back in to 7/4. It all finishes in nine days but it's looking like they could go straight into another Celeb BB. Excellent news all round.

All sorted, proper confirmation later. Bit awkward today, I have a guest.

All 4 bets are with Wm Hill Mobile. All are "Money Back as a Free Bet if 2nd" up to £25.

We got the recommended price on Chesterfield and Noble Deed.

We got 100/30 for Wedding Ring,

Telescope got complicated, as I missed the 4/6, it is now 8/13, so I reduced the bet to £39 @ 8/13. This probably destroyed the maths, but I am a but pushed for time this morning, so it will have to do.

Confirmation later.

I know TK has gone but for those interested Betfred has a special double price boost

Telescope and Ultrasonic at 11/2. Seems a smidge big to me
