I was in breathtaking form, very nearly went right through the card, backed 9 straight losers in a row, before finding the winner of Race 10.

Here's hoping we get to see Jim's decennial face again in 24 hours.

Unlucky, sir.
You'll get there one day. I believe in you.

More crazy swings on the BB market tonight. Not seen the highlights show yet but will watch it tomorrow. Dexter could even go favourite to win the whole thing in the next week.

This is rapidly becoming a behind the sofa job.
Not least because you don't want to be in front of the sofa, in case you accidentally end up watching Big Brother.

Had forgotten about my Tighty Treble/perm. As I scrolled through first two were winners, and was getting excited, I knew Barnsley had the upper hand at 0-0 before I went out.
Was a lovely sweat. Must become a regular feature methinks.

Daily Report
Profit on Month £94.50
Outstanding Bets £2906.58
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=28
A profit of £202 yesterday headlined by Gerald Mosse winning the Shergar Cup at 16-1 for a profit of £320 for BigAdz.
Yesterday's other winner, Real Madrid H-T/F-T for a profit of £21 for McGlashan
These were just as well because yesterday was, in line with much of the rest of August, a tough day including Telescope getting turned over at 4/9, backed at 4/6 albeit a couple of free bets were won, one of which was placed on Stenson who was suggested by several as early as Wednesday last week
A measure of how tricky August is proving is that we have had Amazing Maria tipped by Neil Channing for £250 and Gerald Mosse aswell for £570 profit combined, yet the thread is £94 up overall in 11 days.
The USPGA has real potential for tonight. There is over £160 at risk and Team Maths has Furyk each way leading going into the final round at 70/1, Stricker each way currently in a place at 50-1 and Stenson two off the lead at 15/2 outright. Sadly Kuchar fell away badly yesterday, but here's hoping for later for Furyk, Stenson and Stricker
Yesterday was a very frustrating day in the cricket. At 70-4 and the ball swinging you'd not have given Australia a hope of getting over 280 but, having dropped Rogers and Watson at that point, a 130 run stand leaves several bets at risk. Firstly the unders in this innings, secondly Rogers is now only 60 runs behind Clarke in the Australian batsman series market, Clarke having been 1/6 pre-Test. Broad apart, England were simply ineffective. Not selecting Onions was said by many to be an error at the time, and so it proved.
Notwithstanding this it was a special innings by Rogers, one of the good guys. In slightly better news, of 15 wickets to fall so far in the match Siddle only has one, and Anderson none, so Swann remains two ahead in the Series bowler market on a pitch not really suited to spin for the first time this series
In yesterday's football Watford won convincingly, Reading drew for a good point at Bolton, Assombolonga and Wells both scored to make it two in two for both, Kidderminster won the opening game in the conference and, just to make sure not all is rosy in the round ball garden Barnsley lost to a 90th minute own goal.
In Baseball the Red Sox beat the Royals to go three games ahead of the Rays who lost again to the Dodgers. The Rays form is slipping, but this is in part because they are in the tough part of their schedule. The Dodgers for example have won 16 on the trot currently.

What?
Say it ain't so.
There is a
highlights
show?
How long it last - 3 seconds?
And soon, it starts again? May the Lord have mercy on you poor souls.
You should have watched Allotment Wars in the week. Now THAT is entertainment. Incred viewing. Giant turnips & all sorts.

Good report Tighty.
Just to remind everyone, the TWO bets on Watford are....
£50 @ 5/1 (£100 recommended) to be Promoted. 7/4 shot now.
£350 @ 2/7 to finish Top Half, a 1/16 shot now.
Bit annoyed with myself that I missed the original suggestion for Stenny & Wiggle-Waggle, but as will all the major betting events, the suggestions come in left right & centre, & if it coincides with a busy period at work., I generally miss a few. Anyway, we eventually got on board Stenny, so all is not lost.
Think we only need Furyk to place (£5 EW @ 70/1, 6 places, qtr odds) & that covers us for the USPGA. A win would be jolly handy, though.....
When does the County Cricket season end? We have a few really decent sweats there, too, notably Middlesex & Northants, at fancy prices.

Am working tonight, so two favours please.
1) Please put up any bets for this evening as early as poss, I'll be unable to action any after 6pm. Miss Fowler demands my full attention.
2) I'll miss the USPGA climax, ****, but I can read blonde during breaks etc, so can you keep the thread updated with Furyk, Stenny & Stricker etc news please. I can have a silent sweat then.
I'll be Confirming most of yesterday's bets shortly, purely for Tighty & the Spready. Look away, it's boring stuff.
There are also some bets to action I think, including one by Mark Porter.
Congrats to McGlashan for a nice back to back HT-FT double.

Real Madrid play their last pre-season friendly on Saturday night. Madrid have been making quick work of a sides in pre-season and opponents Inter have an abysmal record in friendlies.
The best value in these games looks to be backing Madrid's starting 11 to lead at half time then see the game out.
Suggested bet: £20 on Madrid HT/FT @2.25 with Paddy Power or Bet365.

£20 @ 21/20, BetVictor, Real Madrid HT-FT over Inter Milan.

Unfortunately I haven't found a way to back all 4 teams in the Shergar Cup and guarantee a profit, but we should put a few bets though Hills Mobile this morning. Guess we could be looking at getting our free bets onto the PGA. You can never get enough runners in the PGA.
The 2.55 at Haydock looks fairly dirty from an each way perspective, but if you want to back half the field that is probably better for the shops. I think we should put £48 on Telescope at 4/6. We get £25 back if 2nd, it is bang on Betfair, and we get best odds guaranteed. He just looks a class above here.
Wedding Ring looks good for £25 in the 3.35 at Newmarket at 3/1. Think BigAdz said he never backs Spencer, but the maths is good.
Finally I did find one in the Shergar Cup, I think we should get Chesterfield at 11/4 in the 2.40. Best odds is included, so we can take a price that isn't the best.
At some stage we should be looking at the favourite in the last there, but the price looks terrible vs Betfair at the minute. Best Odds likely saves us though. Edit. Now Noble Deed is 5/2 in the 3.50 which is fine to take
Hills have the offer on all live Channel 4 races, so that would be a good place for others to look for value.
