A brief wander through the prices in the 64 individual games in the first round of the World Chess Cup made me giggle.

One game is priced up thusly:

Vladmir Kramnik: 1.014
Draw: 21.0
Gillian Bwalya: 111

110/1 in a three horse race! Can't see a win but it did make me think what my price would be against the former world champion!

I haven't found a market for the overall winner beyond Marathon's, which carries too big an overground to make it sporting. I've had 4 bets myself, FWIW, as mentioned on Chess Thread a couple of weeks ago:

I have:

Shak Mamedyarov at 6/1
Hikaru Nakamura at 8/1
Michael Adams at 55/1 (now 11/1 if you please after a big tournament win last week)
And a banzai on a young lad called Anish Giri, who is a very promising prospect and has a good draw. He's 125/1.

Not worth a Fred bet, as this thread is all about beating the bookies. Hoping for at least one deep run. A matter of time.before we get a Hills Money Back special or two on a comp like this and Doobs can blind us all with science. He excels in spreadsheetery.

Ladbrokes have become the latest firm to stop offering each-way bets in first goalscorer markets.

Such bets are no longer accepted in their shops and will be phased out online over the next week.

Only 365 and Paddy Power still provide an each-way option.

Not been the best half hour for the umpires: Dar gives one that would have been clipping the outside of a fourth stump and Hill says no to one that was hitting halfway up middle.

Think we discussed the line as being 270, didn't we? Seriously good find, Tighty. Very well done.
