Fiver! Fiver!? Phumph. Objection. Make a proper bet if we're betting.

Former players include Alan Pardew, Steve Watts and Poshies goalkeeping coach Jimmy Jimmy Glass.

THE Jimmy Glass??!

Don't think that bet can be validated without an historical picture of the ground.

It's annoying, I had a book I can't find in the house on Dulwich's history, and they had an awesome aerial shot of a packed Hamlet stadium with 20,000+ viewing. It was the highest attendance they have received. They have since downsized from their old ground to a 3000 capacity with only one seated stand here:

I have also played on the hallowed turf myself, in cup games for the youth team between the ages of 16-18, including one game where i invited about 10 mates to come and watch me as it was a big deal, a stadium run out under floodlights. I was the goalkeeper. They turned up late, we were already one-nil down, and then i went on to have a complete mare and we lost 5-1. Including someone chipping me from about 40 yards out and embarrassingly, attempting to throw the ball out to my left wing back while standing on the right hand side of the area, holding onto it for too long as i attempted the throw, ending up throwing it to the other side of the penalty area, i clambered over and slid in and claimed it with my hands again which is illegal and a indirect free kick inside the box, and the oppo went on to score from that. I was a jittery, calamitous keeper all night unfortunately and was witnessed by a big chunk of my mates who i could hear a lot of the match laughing loudly to the backdrop of prominent silence. A strong memory.

This was the team out yesterday for them.

Dulwich has a decent catchment area too in that it is quite far from other football teams, with the closest being Millwall a couple of miles away, they are 3 promotions away from League 2, they already have 600+ fans going to the home games and have some wealthy supporters who I would assume would back the team more so than most clubs this level. Exciting times for the club really. Plus they wear pink!

This guy being, imo, their best player, Erhun Aksel Oztumer, ex Turkish Prem pro, only 5'2, but of the same ilk of a Leon Britain.

Lol, I only suggested a fiver as I know that I appear flaky with suggestions at the best of times to most of you!

More ex pros, include Chris Dickson, recently of Charlton. Andy Gray of Crystal Palace a while back. George Elokobi of Wolves. And probably most famously Peter Crouch played around 8 games on loan from QPR, scored too.

Have to find the picture of him in the colours, I know it is somewhere.

I suggest a £20 interest bet on the Hamlet.

Erhun Aksel Oztumer reminds me a lot of Robert Lewandowski.

Can't find a picture of the 1948 Olympic game, but this was apparently 1947:

The International at York looks like a race full of non runners.  I can't see Aidan O'Brien running more than one of his better horses, and after yesterday, Cirrus Des Aigles and Telescope aren't likely to show up.   I think the turn out will be Al Kazeem, Magician, Trading Leather and at most of handful of others that aren't really good enough.

Al Kazeem is such a good horse and after struggling to keep sound for a while is now showing his class.  Magician looked magnificent one day, rubbish the next.  So I guess there is a chance we are going to pick the third best horse.

That horse is Trading Leather, he won the Irish Derby and couldn't live with Novellist in the King George.  I don't think there is much shame in the latter, as I was so impressed I logged on to Ladbrokes to get 0 pounds* on it Ante Post for the Arc.  The horse has run on good to firm the last few times, which is the likely ground at York.

There is the obvious danger that Jim Bolger is planning something different than running at York, but we have to live with that.

Suggest £25 each way Trading Leather at 9/2 in the International at York (Boylesports or BetVictor, assuming we can't get on with Stans).  The win odds don't beat Betfair, but it seems pretty unlikely we won't get good enough place terms to make up for.

* I was kind of hoping for a touch more.
