Daily Report

Profit on Month £267.42

Outstanding Bets £2897.06

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=28

A day when a lot of things went right, but not quite the home run it could have been. A profit of £173 overall

In the USPGA Furyk e/w at 70-1 produced a profit of £82.50 and Tim Clark's hole in one a profit of £40. Sadly Stricker faded when set for an e/w return too, and Furyk never really threatened Dufner despite only ever being a couple of shots behind, and Dufner played lights out all day. Stenson was third, and we had him outright as a free bet

Overall on the USPGA, including all bets, there was a loss of £62

Robin Van Persie first goalscorer in the Community Shield at 4-1 produced a profit of £100

Justin Carney scored a try for a profit of £22

England bowled out Australia for 270, for a profit of £19.52

In the Test Match we have several sweats for today and onwards

Firstly we need England to score under 326, though Ian Bell's third century of the series wasn't in the plan

Secondly when Australia come to bat, we need Rogers to score less than Clarke:

Here are the top run scorers in the series so far

The Ashes 2013 Most runs
Player           Inn Runs Best Average
IR Bell            8  492  109   82.00
MJ Clarke          7 325  187   54.16
CJL Rogers         7  295 110   42.14

Thirdly, its getting a bit squeaky in the bowler market where it is now a four way battle for the top wicket taker in the series

The Ashes 2013 Most wickets
Player          Inn Wkts Average  Econ
GP Swann          7   21   27.04  2.97
PM Siddle         8   17   25.17  2.78
JM Anderson       7   17   26.82  2.96
RJ Harris         6   16   21.37  2.82

Later on we have a Chompy special running at Ayr

In baseball the Dodgers swept the Rays, another disappointing result. In better news the Royals beat the Red Sox to limit the damage for Tampa Bay. With the Yankees beating the Tigers, then at last the Royals made up a bit of gorund in the AL central

Maidstone will win the Ryman League. My ex Bedford Town player-acquaintance who plays for them tells me the budget is up to climb back towards the league, from whence they came, asap

6/4 Swann to be top England second innings wicket taker any interest?

We putting Maidstone up as a rec Tighty? Money counts double at that level surely?

Swann..it depends on the overhead conditions....overcast and the new ball should take some wickets, making 6/4 the spinner look skinny

I am ever so politely trying to say that Dulwich Hamlet might be a fun punt for a season, but no more than that ;-)

Good morning all.

Dulwich Hamlet......

I was rather busy yesterday, so I hope my views on Dulwich were not misconstrued.

In brief.....

1) I still cant quite see the betting logic, where is the perceived value?

2) We try & mix fun, & serious betting here, & fun bets will always be part of the fayre, as long as we are making a few bob. Season-long fun bets are the greatest (witness Brnet, the 49-ers, & those horrendous Walsall bets....), & that includes Dulwich Hamlet.

My real problem is quite simple. I don't have a Betway Account, & don't really want one. Despite, presumably, all the Freddies lumping on, they (still) offer 16/1, but the best I can get elsewhere is 11/1.

Taking 11/1 about a bet where 16/1 is available would be unthinkable.

If I can get 16/1, we will have some fun, but I just can't bring myself to take 11/1.

If only Lugano was 5 years younger 66/1 would be massive (discipline market)

A rugged tough defender cynical to the extreme and in the last year turns slowly than me.

Any Wba fans about? As Captain of Uruguay in a world cup year (if they qualify)
i cant imagine he has left Psg were he did not really play much to join Wba to not really play much?

Having said that the two centre backs are usually the first names on the Wba teamsheet so its hard to see them being discarded. But there would have been much cheaper options to bring in as just a back up defender than Diego, he is renowed as an excellent "team" man so that maybe explains it.

All in all to many doubts even at 66/1 (we already have one possible non starter in the book)

Will be watching the individual match markets closely depending on team news could get some value that way.

Morning Mr T.

Today's tennis in the USA has thrown up a betting opportunity. Later this evening Juan Monaco plays Jurgen Melzer. Monaco leads the head to head 5-1 and has been made favourite. Looking at the surfaces they play on leads me to think that Melzer should be at worst an even money shot. His one victory came on today's hard court surface in 2010 and they have not played each other for 3 years.

This season Monaco has had 3 games on hard courts and lost them all, whereas his record on his preferred clay is won 18 lost 12. Melzer on the other hand has won 13 lost 6 on hard courts this season. They both played the Miami tournament this year, which is a hard court, and in the 2nd round Monaco lost to Ramos-Vinolas. 2 rounds later Melzer beat Ramos-Vinolas in the last 16.

Suggest £20 Melzer @ 8/5 with Bwin

Sorry to interrupt your golf sweat guys but hopefully Fred is going to be feeling flush Wink

Suggested bet £70 on Rooney to stay at United this transfer window @ 2.2 with Unibet and 888. (I've backed it as low as 1.9)

The price on him to Chelsea is all wrong. Chelsea appear only half serious in their bid for him but have fully succeeded in upsetting the apple cart at Old Trafford. Also United cannot sell a top star to a domestic rival.

On a similar note I'd also take £40 on Bale to stay at Spurs whilst there's 3.0+ available on Betfair.

Morning Mr McGlashan.

We do badly in transfer markets, & with good reason - the bookies have almost always got access to better info than we have, & are a step ahead of us. We've never made money in such Markets, & we won't be having many bets, ever.

But.....

I love this bet, & I'll tell you why.

There are three hot transfer Markets at present - Bale, Suarez, & Rooney.

Bale

Mr Levy knows the value of money. Bale is the hottest available property in world football right now, or nearly so. Only the likes of Messi & Ronaldo would command more interesty. He is a true Trophy asset, in every sense. Spurs, with respect, are a "fringe" team in the Premier League. He will go, but we know not when.

Suarez

The smoke signals are confusing.

We will not sell him, do you hear us? We will ESPECIALLY not sell him to Arsenal.

How do you read that? See the conflict in those two statements? Seems pretty clear to me. He's available.

But when? No idea.

Rooney

Moyes seemed unequivical yesterday.

We are not selling him.

That was it. They don't need the money. Unlike Arsenal, they are happy to live on borrowed money, despite their fans bitching non-stop about the Glaziers.

They are the most successful side in England, arguably Europe.

So my money is on him staying at United.

Now comes the problem - I don't have accounts with 888 or Unibet. The best price I can get elsewhere 10/11, with Wm Hill.

So, at what price does this cease to be value?

If I can set up an account with 888 or Unibet I'll take the 2.2 if it is still there, but I don't really want to deposit money there only to find the price has gone.

Bear with me please, whilst I try & sort an Account, & get some of that 2.2.

If I can't, we have to decide if 10/11 is good enough. I think it is, but I loathe the thought of taking a worse price with Wm Hill than elsewhere.

It's extraordinary - either his account has been hacked, or he's lost the plot.

Not nice to see, actually. In golfers, I like to see a little more dignity than that.

Indulging in a Twitter slanging match with Joey Barton will not get anyone anywhere.

Morning h, & very well done yesterday.

You keep finding winners, but judging by the cliffs on that Tennis bet, a ton of research must go into them. Success was never meant to be easy.

We are safely on board, thank you.

£20 @ 2.6, BWin, Jurgen Melzer over Juan Monaco.

At a guess, I would say he has been celebrating Dufner's win, but had more than his share of the champers Cheesy

Yes, I guess so.

Using Twitter when inebriated is not a good idea, I'd suggest. Dangerous thing, is Twitter.
