*Clears throat*

Adz is right.

Magnum opus is your great work; it is generally an artist (writer)'s defining work, but with the condition that is also one of their biggest.

Canterbury Tales, War and Peace, Ulysses, Paradise Lost, Ricky Villa in 1981 and so on.

That wasn't the writer's intention, though, so it's a 'no fault' situation IMO. Superbly written, might I add?

*Clears throat*

I thought Rich was opening his ice cream.

PS Tony, Loving the Solheim Cup too. I think I might be in love with Charley Hull.

Anyone near Wakefield and can give me a report on how much rain you had yesterday/overnight and if it is wet today? I am not asking as I am thinking of a day trip today, it is bet related. Thanks in advance. I should have done this for Thursday game as I had weather concerns then.

Morning H. Well done on the CESM's yesterday. We needed that.

No reported precipitation (I LOVE that word) yesterday.....

And no precipitation, (which includes graupel I'll have you know) forecast for today.

Bit young for you Phil - she is, incredibly (I had to check twice) just 17.

Introduced to golf at the age of two, according to Wiki.

Did you hear the Swedish (?) golfer utter an f-based expletive when she missed a putt yesterday?! Quick apology from the commentators followed. Know I'm old-fashioned, but I don't like to hear young ladies uttering profanities.

Realise TfT can't get on with Skybet, and neither can I, but will stick it up anyway.

Colchester 10/11 to win at home v Carlisle on Friday? Yikes!

Carlisle are a shambles at the moment and Colchester have made a good start, aside from being torn a new one by Poshies in the Cup. 4/6 nearer the mark imo. Spoilsports are the only other 'bookmaker' up and they go 8/11.

Market reactions to yesterday's matches

Arsenal have drifted in the Premier League top-four betting after an opening-day defeat to Aston Villa.

The Gunners looked set to get their season off and running with a regulation victory when Olivier Giroud scored the opening goal, but things soon went awry.

The concession of two penalties combined with the dismissal of Laurent Koscielny saw Arsenal lose 3-1 and drift to 11/8 for a top-four finish with William Hill - the same price as rivals Tottenham.

Ladbrokes, who eased Arsenal to 6/5, cut Arsene Wenger to 12/1 to be the next Premier League manager to leave his role while William Hill make him just 7/4 to leave before the end of the season.

"Wenger has reportedly had a £70m warchest of which he has spent exactly zero," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "Unless he makes signings before the transfer window shuts, he is surely on borrowed time."

It was business as usual for both Robin van Persie and Manchester United as they got their season off to a winning start, 4-1 at Swansea.

Manchester United are quoted at 13/5 to lift the title again with bet365 but William Hill have trimmed van Persie from 7/2 to 2/1 to win the Golden Boot.

Coral are offering 13/2 for Manchester United to win the league and van Persie to be the league's top scorer.

"If Robin van Persie can stay fit all season somebody is going to have to play out of their skin to stop the Dutchman from being the league's top scorer for a third season in a row," said Coral's Tim Reynolds.

Liverpool were considered one of the main benefactors having watched Arsenal drop points immediately after they'd opened up their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Stoke at Anfield.

It was a fast, fluent performance from Liverpool - although Simon Mignolet was still required to save a late penalty to ensure they gained maximum reward for their efforts - and one which saw them cut to 7/4 for a top-four finish.

Coral and William Hill eased Villa to 12/1 for relegation while Stoke are standout 3/1 chances with Ladbrokes, leaving them fourth favourites for the drop behind Cardiff at 8/5 (Boylesports), after they lost 2-0 at West Ham.

Sunderland were cut to a general 4/1 after a home defeat to Fulham while West Brom are no bigger than 7/1 after they lost to Southampton.

Yes, quite so. We could all die of boredom, for example.

I believe it was the US based Englishwoman Jodi Ewart-Shadoff who hails from Yorkshire originally and grew up as part of a horse-racing family.

Just an incredible talent for a 17 years old isn't she, that tee shot to 3 feet on the par three when playing last with the US about 6 feet away was fantastic.

the swearing was a bit rustic wasn't it tho I was loving the broad Yorkshire caddies dulcet tones. Really liked the exchange on the last when he said sum mat like ' it's a good club this un', just trust it and finish on a good un' and she actually said thank you before whacking it over the green and he set off walking muttering great shot, bleedin wind.

do you think the amount of time it is taking to finish the games is a bit ridiculous tho?

I hope you're right but I'm not as confident as usual.
