Quite put me off my lunch that hour on the thread. The image was bad, the comment afterwards from our ex-after-timer was a real "did he really post that?" moment

Much like his tips :-)

Noooooo!

And I had only just been texting another forumite how much of a tipping don u have become.

I think I missed the bit you're referring to, unless it was the chap in the barn.

I'll count myself lucky.

For those who follow Serie A, Juventus looked very impressive tonight, bar a shaky spell in the latter part of the first half. Its going to be very difficult for Napoli to win the title from them and we have good value at .

Olivier Giroud has scored in 3 games for Arsenal this year.

Paddy Power are offering money back on losing FGS bets if the match ends in a draw.

Paddy Power are top price.

Tal just loves this kind of bet

4
3 great reasons to put the max on Giroud FGS for Arsenal against the team that aren't quite as good as them with Paddy Power.  I guess it will only be £14.21, but let's do it.

Tennis recommendation to consider;

Sloane Stephens, wildy regarding as the next best thing in Womens tennis.  Having a great year in Grand slams compared to past years.  Reaching the Aussie QF in January, and was 17th Seed in Wimbledon, reaching another QF before losing to Bartoli (eventual winner).

Playing tomorrow (1/9) against Serena Williams.  Serena beat her in the aussie QF, so some revenge/lesson learnt are on the cards.

Now I'm not saying Sloane will beat Williams, but I think a 2-1 loss is most likely, and a good bet at 6/1 best odds available with Hills.

http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/us-open/womens/serena-williams-v-sloane-stephens/set-betting

Recommend £10 @ 6/1 Serena 2 sets to 1.

Edit - additional info.....US Open form.

1st Rnd 2-1 (4-6, 6-3, 6-1)
2nd Rnd, (6-1, 6-1)
3rd Rnd (6-1, 6-3)

Thanks Waz.

Any views on this from our tennis sorts?

It can't be terrible, as it very much stands out.  It just seems likelier that everybody else is right and Hills are wrong than the other way round.  Serena just crushes at tennis tho.

tennis ice cream comment

Sloane takes a set off Serena here? does she do so 1 time in 7?

Williams has dropped 8 games all week.

I see they have played each other twice lifetime

Williams beat her in straight in January then lost in three when injured three weeks later

what is the reference to ice-cream?

Williams hasn't played anyone of any note yet..54th, 77th and 78th rankings.....first major test I'd suggest.

"ice-cream"?

It was Tighty being, as ever, self-deprecating. A bit of humility goes a long way.

An "ice-cream" is a "mug punter", such as Eso Kral, or Chompy. A losing punter, one who bets because he "fancies" a selection.

Daily Report

Profit on Month £724.53

Outstanding Bets £3106.72

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=29

The final day of August brought a loss of just over £40. The sole winner was Partick Thistle, who came from behind to beat St Mirren 2-1 for a debut £37.50 winner for ForthThistle

In the losses column, Horses -£17.20 net, Faulkner in the cricket (just) -£5 and two of the cricket season bets

Lancashire beating Hampshire meant that Hampshire are no longer able to win the LVCC2 title, -£40. Durham beating LVCC1 leaders Yorkshire meant they can no longer finish bottom of LVCC Div 1 -£20

September is set to start with some golf red ink unless we have a rebound in the next couple of days.

In Newport Aguilar +2 and Jacquelin +8 are way off contention for a place.

In Boston, Mickelson fell away in round 2, carding a 71 to be 5 off the half way lead. In better news Keegan Bradley carded 66 to be T9. Adam Scott's 66 at least ensured he made the cut. Lee Westwood at -4 and Zach Johnson at -1 both recorded 72s to be well off a place also

It being a Satuday, our slew of longer term positions developed, some positive some negative

A summary, in no particular order

* Nadal won comfortably and is on course for a Quarter final against Federer

* Napoli won 4-2, the early signs are they will compete for Serie A all season

* Palace beat Sunderland 3-1, an early dent in our hopes of them finishing bottom

* Reading, who we have to win the Championship, won at Yeovil and are 9th

* Watford lost at Blackpool to fall outside the early top six

* Hull City lost at Man City. No surprises, but we have a long term positive bet on the handicap

* Southampton lost 1-0 at Norwich. We have them to go down

* Kidderminster, another handicap position, lost 2-0 to Luton

* Barnsley won their first game of the season beating Huddersfiield. A modicum of hope in a so far difficult season

* Cardiff drew at home to Everton. Cardiff another handicap position. Thats 4 points out of 6 at home, and encouraging signs. It doesn't look too likely that Mackay will be first sacked though

* None of Assombolonga, Wells, Rodriguez and Darren Bent scored, and Navas did not assist

* Texas A and M beat Rice, so thats one in the win column

* Marcus Mariotta looked very good for Oregon, and no doubt will be battling Manziel for the Heisman come season end

* The Rays lost again. Troubling times. The Red Sox won again. Not good for Tampa Bay but good for our saver

* Essex in 3rd and Gloucs in 4th drew so Northants looking very good for 2nd in LVCC2. Each way return likely there

* Sussex and Warwicks drew so Middlesex, despite poor recent form, are only a few points off 3rd with 3 games to go. We need 3rd for an each way return

* Wayne Rooney is still at Man U and if he is in under 48 hours we have a winning bet

I don't like Sunday morning write ups too much...it all happens on Saturdays!

Relentless Rafa moves on. Such is his form this year since his comeback from injury that he could be World Number 1 shortly despite missing Australia and losing in the first round of Wimbledon

No Keegan, it doesn't look too good at Celtic Manor, we are relying on you

Villarreal win 3-0 again

The Yellow Submarine moved atop the league, for now, with their third straight win to open the season.

end season now

I only just clicked (thanks to google) what the frequent "Yellow Submarine" references were.

Looks like a good sweat incoming.
