Mr T.

I seem to remember you have a free bet with WH to be used on the US Open tennis. If you can't find anything else in the short time remaining then Gasquet to beat Ferrer today may be a worthy bet.

Well done Hector, deffo worthy.

We needed that today, repairs a bit of damage.

Reading the Thursday edition of the Racing Post and came across an article Fred will like -

THE BALDFRED Cesarewitch has come back under consideration for Tiger Cliff after owner Henry Ponsonby said on Wednesday that he felt the Ebor winner "could still be well in" off an official handicap mark of 104

Ponsonby was keen to play down the chances of Tiger Cliff lining up at Newmarket on October 12 immediately after his success on the Knavesmire for trainer Lady Cecil and jockey Tom Queally.

Tiger Cliff was raised 6lb for his Ebor win and had been allotted 9st 4lb for the Cesarewitch, 8lb below top weight Aaim To Prosper.

Alternative options in France and on Qipco British Champions Day had initially been preferred by Ponsonby as a prelude to the four-year-old joining Alan King for a jumps campaign.

However, speaking after the weights for the Cesarewitch, in which Ponsonby also has Lieutenant Miller (8st 5lb), were revealed, the owner said: "Tiger Cliff wants some cut in the ground and has two other options - the Prix du Cadran in France and the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot. But the other two are worth less than the Cesarewitch and even off his new mark of 104 he could still be well in.

"Lieutenant Miller is a definite runner, he has been laid out for the Cesarewitch ever since he finished second at Goodwood at the end of July. So they may w

Daily Report

Profit on Month £649.93

Outstanding Bets £3002.06

Free Bets Available TWO, Expiry 11 September, William Hill

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=29

A loss of £85 yesterday, with the damage from a poor afternoon at Lingfield limited by Richard Gasquet overcoming a Ferrer-o Rocker to win in 5 sets at the US Open for a £52.50 profit

The Lingfield result yesterday afternoon was Won 1, Lost 6 with two free bets earned from second places for a loss, so far, of £138

Elsewhere at the US Open Rafa Nadal brushed aside the challenge of Robredo and will now meet Gasquet in the finals. Nadal is in imperious form. He is now 130 wins and 0 losses when winning the first two sets. He has won his last 100 service games this season, and only faced six break points. No break points faced yesterday. Thanks to The Dripping Tap, we have £20 at 3-1 and he is now 6/5 clear favourite, which looks totally justified

In baseball the regular season is just over 20 games away from conclusion. In the AL East both the Red Sox and the Rays won yesterday and Boston remain 5.5 games ahead, and very likely winners of the division

In the Wild card race the standings are as follows. Top two play in a one-off play-off game

Texas Rangers 80-59
Tampa Bay Rays 77-61
--------------------------------
New York Yankees 75-64
Cleveland Indians  74-65
Baltimore Orioles 73-65
Kansas City Royals 72-67

So, for those watching, we not only are looking up at the Red Sox from aRays perspective, but also down at the Yankees and Indians from a Wild Card persepctive, as we have bets on them winning the AL and World Series too. Tense times

The Royals as we can see are clinging on to Wild Card hopes but realistically need a terrific run from here, and poor form around them, to make it

Back home, in the sumptuous environs of Kennington, a non-spinning spinner called Ollie Rayer took 8 Surrey wickets in a session to bowl them out for 145 and leave Middlesex in a commanding position in the London Derby. Elsewhere Durham are strong favourites to beat Sussex and a much depleted Warwickshire team are in a real scrap with Notts. Middlesex, Sussex and Warwicks are the three teams in the hunt for a top three place behind the leaders Yorkshire and Durham. Today is an important day for that bet

In Division Two Northants are in a safe enough position at Southampton but have the misfortune to be playing on a featherbed whilst around the rest of the country wickets fall like nine-pins in a bowling alley. Them's the breaks

Tonight the NFL starts, which hopefully is good news for the thread given the number of people looking for betting opportunities in the NFL from Sept-January

Baltimore are 7.5 point dogs away to the Ravens tonight, having been 9.5 point dogs. Frustrating, but no need to worry.

Yesterday's discussions ranged from Moldova to Sweden, Strictly to the Cesarewitch. I sense Dubai girding his loins in each way goal-scorer markets tomorrow night.......

Gasquet puts Ferrer in a Casket. Gasquet last beat Nadal as a 13 year old. They meet in the semi's tomorrow

It may not look like it, but that was a forehand

Meet Ollie Rayner. Our path to a greater chance of some Middlesex money, hopefully

Radiator wins at Lingfield. Google searching Radiator and Lingfield didn't really help, so here's Alex Hammond of SSN, who made Radiator her tip of the day yesterday.

Will Myers, the rookie, did it again last night. Responsible for every run in the Rays victory as they return to some form

It's back. Thankfully. Peyton Manning is in the spotlight again tonight

The RP go for San Fran @ 8-1, and Cincy 25-1, Indy 50-1. Rather worryingly they agree with Spangles on 20-1 Andrew Luck.

Indy would be a headline and a half. Worst team in Football (no spurs gags, please) in 2011 and winning the superbowl in 2014. Would also be fun for Baltimore to be followed by Colts again.

I got the expected "Dear John" missive from BMU, not too bad though, it'll make little difference.

We wish to advise you that we are restructuring our approach to how we administrate our accounts.

As a result, I regret that it has been decided that your account will no longer be eligible for the Best Odds Guaranteed concession.

We realise you will probably be disappointed to lose Best Odds Guaranteed but would reassure you that as a valued BetVictor customer you will continue to receive our first class service and variety of regular offers.

In the disclaimers at the foot of that missive from dearest Victor, there was one which made me smile.

That all looks familiar.  Luckily for you, some of us are putting in some sterling work towards keeping your Hills and Ladbrokes accounts open.

Advance copy of my draft for elsewhere

Recommendation

Baltimore Ravens +8.5 at 10/11 with x/+9.5 4/5 with x

The Denver Broncos are a tough nut to crack at home at altitude in Colorado. One of the fancied teams to go very deep into the play-offs they have a talented roster. On offense Peyton Manning remains one of the league's best quarterbacks and he has a slew of receivers headed by Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, joined this year by Wes Welker from the Patriots. On defense they are slightly weakened by the suspension of all-pro rusher Von Miller, the injury to one of the best cornerbacks in the league Champ Bailey and the departure of Miller's cohort up front Elvis Dumervil to their opponents in this game the Ravens.

The Ravens, despite their success last season, are probably under-rated. They've lost some of last year's roster to free agency but remain well coached, well drafted and a team that always out-performs, especially quarterback Joe Flacco. In running back Ray Rice and a very good offensive line they have the ability to construct long drives, espeically with Von Miller absent, and at least keep the score close. Dumervil and his fellow pass-rushers will also be pressuring Manning

It is quite striking to see the Superbowl winner a near 10 point underdog for their first game after winning the title. This has to be interesting, as this should be a very close game. The battle between the two in the play-offs last season that the Ravens won, going into the game as big under-dogs, went to overtime to attest to this. Are the Ravens really nearly ten points worse than this six months later? I doubt it, and would be surprised to see them lose by more than a touchdown (seven points).

Since the 2005 campaign, only one Super Bowl winning team has lost the following year’s opener. That was the 2012 New York Giants, who also failed to cover the spread—something that has only happened twice in that eight-year span.None of those teams have had to start on the road, but the Ravens proved during their run through the AFC last year that travel is no detriment to their success

(sorry for the brevity, am limiting word count)

Rich,

What do we do with this, now?

It was recommended @ between +8.5 & +9.5.

So, currently +7.5.

When you Posted it, & assuming we would want to get on immediately, I plaed the bet with Wm Hill, £55 @ 10/11. It was, I think, @ +8.5 or +9 at the time (bet slip does not state), then the advice came in "wait a few days". I can't really stick that on Fred once the line has moved to 7.5, it seems to me, it's bending the numbers slightly.

What now?

Please note, I can't place bets between 6pm & 0030 tonight. (Think it kicks off @ 0130am?)

Yes yes, & I can't tell you how grateful I am.

Bad day yesterday, I did some other "hot" horses. Same result. Luckily Scott's Greyhounds got me out of it.
