In longer term stuff Southampton beat Swansea. We'll be striking off the relegation bet before Xmas. Southampton have only conceded two goals in eight games with Lovren and Wanyama two of the signings of the off-season at centre half and holding midfield. A real up and coming team.

Arsenal drew at West Brom...with other results recently thats an ok point in our quest for them to hit top 3

In the NFL the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0 after beating Tennesssee. They are in the same division as 5-0 Denver but KC have a lights out defense. We have a real shot of a division win at 7-1 I think, we'll see in week 11 when Denver and KC meet

Miami lost at home to Baltimore but Cincinnati beat New England so no damage in the AFC East and a major win for the Bengals who produced one heck of a defensive performance to hold Brady without a touchdown on the day for the first time in 56 games despite a real regression in form recently from their QB Andy Dalton.  

The Titans scored 17 points agaisnt the terrific Chiefs, so thats within acceptable ranges for the season points bet

News on the QB passing yards stats and bet on Tuesday

Bilbao drew last night and are 5th in La Liga behind Villareal and Atlhetico Madrid in the league without the top two

The Tampa Bay Rays flew to Boston tonight, and landed at 12.49 our time and thus concluded a 5-city, 10-game, 14-day, 5,631-mile road trip through wild cards etc. Probably accounts for their underperformance so far in the ALDS. They are knackered

NFL tip for tomorrow's game:

Three things make me believe this is worth a bet:

1) Matt Ryan is averaging 330 yards passing per game this season, but it has been well documented that Atlanta have one of the worst Red Zone TD percentages in the NFL. This should mean the Falcons end up kicking a lot of field goals.

2) The Jets have the 2nd most giveaways this season, with 12 - The only team with more giveaways at the moment is the Giants (16). This means that the Falcons should get opportunities to start drives with decent field position, and the Jets could potentially end up taking points off the board, too.

3) Also, whenever the Falcons have won the toss this season, they have elected to receive the ball first (Thank you, Atlanta Falcons Twitter page). Not sure how relevant a sample size of 2 really is, but it can only be a good thing for a first field goal bet, right?

I'll have to throw that open to the plehora of NFL experts we have here, especially as I know as much about NFL strategy as Chompy does.

On the face of it though, based on what you wrote, it is hard to see why the Falcons would be the outsider of two on that "First Field Goal" bet. 

Let us see what feedback we get, but I won't need much encouragement to have a small dabble. Paddy Power would allow me (I just checked) £15.43 on that market, & that would do me fine actually if we get the green light.

Thanks Tighty. After our recent downswing, we have to be pleased with a £117 profit yesterday. Quite an eclectic quartet of winners, too - Horse racing, F1, Cycling, & Novelty.

I just remembered something.....

I think we loosely agreed to bet Mr Channing's Betting Emporium NFL Selections "blind" eah week, either all of them, or maybe his "Best (biggest) Bets".

I plum forgot about this yesterday, as I had to go to work last night, & it sort of messes with my head. Think I forgot it last weekend, too. I blame Queen Mary for that.

No point looking back now, I suppose, & I've no idea whether we'd have won or lost.

If someone reminds me on the day, I'll start adopting the system next weekend.

You wouldn't have lost if you followed Neil's tips, depends how many you placed tho.

If you just did his nap, you'd have mopped up.  If you just bet the 2 biggest, you'd have made a small profit.  If you'd bet everything, you'd still be counting it.

Incidentally, he has 2 bets up for the NYJ/ATL game tonight
