Blundell Park Grimsby.
If you've been you'll never forget it. I loved it, in a masochistic sort of way.
It's actually in Cleethorpes and you turn off the Cleethorpes road heading to Grimsby, go down a terraced street and there, with the main stand with its back to the North Sea, is the ground
Sit in the Findus stand on the other side, elevated above the rest of the ground and look out over the sea and prepare for the coldest experience of your footballing life
The games at the Grismby ground ares played out with an all-pervading aroma of fish, and the wind whips in through the corners between the stands to make it quite the experience.
Prawn Sandwich it is not. Jellied Eels it is
Today Grimsby Town host Northampton Town in the FA Cup Second Round
Grimsby lie fourth in the Conference, Northampton 2nd bottom of the football League
I've seen Northampton this season live, and there is not a lot of difference between them and the top conference sides. Not a great deal of talent, and under Aidy Bothroyd the style is one dimensional at best.
Northampton were also on TV in the first round of the cup, where they beat Bishops Stortford 2-1
Grimsby beat league side Scunthorpe in a replay in the first round, albeit this was a Scunthorpe side struggling before the departure of Brian Laws, again. They drew at home then won at the world's worst new ground, so bad that they are about to replace it, Glanford Park
Grimsby are full time and this is a tough tie for a league side, let alone a struggling one, let alone in early December.
Before I looked at prices, I had Grimsby evens at best for this. They rested players for an FA Trophy game at home on Tuesday, and will be well up for a shot at the third round draw
My interest was piqued when I saw that we can get a shade under 6/4 with BetVictor
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/fa-cup/grimsby-v-northampton/winner
I think 29/20 is a very fair price indeed, and recommend £20 at said price for the plucky Mariners to beat the Cobblers and hopefully draw Manchester United
Fish and chips on me if it wins
Stop it Tighty, you know I have a weakness for recommends with these lovely little stories & photos included. The "Findus Stand" even sounds cold!

I know of people doing the williamhill money back 2nd horses and have the ones doobs put up on, but betfair sports app are doing the same for 3 races at aintree.
14:40 race has katenko and giant bolster at 3.75 on the app, katenko is 3.9 on the exchange. Bolster 4.1.
Katenko £25 on the SPORTSBOOK app with money back for second? Would that be a bet

No feedback, or even a tad or warmth, for Ant's Palace bets?
I don't have the specialist knowledge on Mr Bannan to comment on the tactical side
He seems to have 1 assist in 8 games this season. So we are being asked to back him at 10/1 to not only get his second assist of the season but to do it first in the game?
Pass. Which is hopefully what Mr Bannan will do for Ant.
On the game itself, this is only one view and probably confirms with the consensus. Not many goals, draw a strong possibility, but as we know Palace have found some form and Cardiff at home is a winnable one.

Few of us do, & we know that Ant knows Palace inside out (ther Bannan Assist suggestion), so, like you, I just looked at the maths, & the facts, & I can't see how it adds up to real value. It may happen, & I hope it does, but I just can''t see any value angle.
The Outright on Palace seems to be priced somewhere close to correct, imo.
There is always, of course, a discount applied to "homer" recommends, quite rightly I believe.

Only place I have experienced football hooliganism first hand. Got my back tooth knocked out for having the temerity to wear a Boro shirt. Was 15 at the time!

Encouragingly, on researching I see that Palace have both Lewandoski/Glenn Murray and now Xavi in their squad
"Bannan is primarily a central midfielder but also can play as a winger. He is particularly useful with his left foot. [33] Bannan has skill, vision and good passing ability. It is these attributes that led to Aston Villa manager Gérard Houllier likening him to Barcelona midfielders Xavi and Andrés Iniesta. Houllier had only been in charge of Villa for a few weeks before saying "He is an intelligent player, he can read the game well and adapt well. I don’t think Xavi and Iniesta, who are outstanding players, are of huge size. They are intelligent, they have the skill, they have the desire – young Barry has all of that." Ian Holloway, who Bannan played under during his time at Blackpool, described him as "a beautiful footballer, absolutely lovely to watch".[34]
Bannan's height and playing style have also led to Scotland team-mate Darren Fletcher comparing him to the likes of Xavi, Iniesta and Paul Scholes. The Manchester United midfielder stated that Bannan "is in the mould of the best midfielders in the world", and said "I'm talking about Xavi, Iniesta and Paul Scholes".[35][36] John Mullen, a football coach that taught Bannan as a youngster at St. Margaret's High School, said in 2010 that he was unsurprised at the success of the midfielder. He claimed that Bannan "had all the attributes you could ask for in a player", was "always motivated" and "gave a lot to the team".[37]
In December 2010, Houllier was again full of praise for him. He said "Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Pedro. You can watch and wonder if they are playing in the youth team sometimes. They have fast technique and young Barry has all of that."

Nice stuff, but how has he done so far this season?
Sounds like he is a real diamond, but Palace are geese, not swans, & it must be hard for him to shine amongst the assembly of mediocre talent that CP possess.

Oi you, behave!
We have to look at facts, & not be ruled by our heart. In PL terms, Palace are a very poor side indeed, those are the facts. I wish Ant well, but this is real money, & we just need to be sensible.
Have you backed Palace, & Bannan?
