Did the Eagles points total really go off at 51.5?

Yes

Its now 18.5

There can't be 19 points in this game

A field goal must be less than 50-50 to make, for starters

Why don't they have an orange ball in NFL for the snow? It must be synthetic nowadays, anyway, rather than pigskin.

thanks to blonde i now watch nfl weekly

i still have little idea what is happening and every week i get at least 25 thoughts in my head of not understanding a play/situation/ruling or all three.

the latest one is tonight the commentator described a player as a "short gain yard specialist" why would you want to be known as a short gain player?

because so often there is a yard or two needed to get a first down or a touchdown

so if you are slow, but big and powerful, you as a running back can have a role in an offense

the smaller shiftier backs are less effective in short yardage as they cannot "move the pile"..ie the big defensive linemen backwards

It's a game played in 10 yard spells, so sometimes you need a guy who can get you 2 or 3 yards to get a new set of 4 downs. You don't want a guy who has a 20% chance of 40 yards in those spots.

Edit: Tighty provides the better answer as ever...

eg Darren Sproles - small finesse outside runner 5 ft 7 and 170 lbs not short yardage

Several Firms are still quoting 26.5. BMU just took a modest bet from me, £30 @ 5/6. Want that for Fred?

Will be consigning Homer Refson to the pile that says "nice research, useless in real life"

Just can't get him right, even though the trends identified are intact

He gave an incompletion against Cleveland that seemed completely bizarre: guy catches the ball, runs out of bounds and falls over after clattering into the ten yard pole, whereupon he drops the ball. That's ruled an incompletion.

Or am I looking at the wrong game?!
