Good shout with the penalty, Tal.

I was trying to get on, but gave up when Skybet started being a bit temperamental.

Poshies now travel to Gillingham, whose wheels have come off lately, on Saturday.

There's an ex-Posh connection here, with Charlie Lee and Chris Whelpdale two of the players that took us out of League Two a few seasons back. That's their level now, though.

Poshies are catching Gillingham at a good time, and they're catching us at a bad time. Eight scored, none conceded in the last two matches. 10-1 over 3.5 away goals, 20-1 over 4.5 away goals, both with Coral. Oi oi!

Evening Mr T.

I would like to suggest a bet on the 3rd Test. Last year on the Indian tour I followed a discussion about whether a particular pitch was going to favour Monty or Swan. It was decided that the pitch was going to really favour Monty because it was quite lively with a decent bounce. Because Monty bowls with a loopy action he gets far more bounce than Swan and causes batsmen great problems. As you know the Perth pitch is known to be extremely lively.

Monty didn't play when England were last at Perth but he did when they were there in 2006. Harmison took 4 1st innings wickets and Monty managed to get 5-92 from 22 overs. I can't see Bresnan doing much should he be selected, and Anderson appears worn out. I see it as a straight race between Broad and Monty.

I also wouldn't put anyone off backing both wicket keepers to be their top 1st innings batsman. Over the last 3 tests here the position of the leading 1st innings run scorers has been  7,8,6,2,8,6. It looks like a pitch that causes all sorts of problems with a hard new ball but then settles down as the ball gets older.

Suggest £20 Monty to be Englands 1st innings leading wicket taker @ 11-2 with Betfred.

Evening h, you caught me at Ovaltine time. (I'm an Ovaltiney - do you remember the song?).

That looks a clever & fun bet, thank you.

BET PLACED

Would be surprised if Monty played. Might play no spinners.

Fans of graphs, snow, statistics or Istanbul will be pleased; fans of statistics of snowfall in Istanbul expressed in graph form will be delighted:

Probability of Snow Fall Being Reported in a Given Day in December in Istanbul

Here's the rest for Tighty's personal collection:

Interesting as I'm going there next week.
So much for going somewhere warm for Chrimbo. I would have thought it was going to be almost balmy as it's around the same latitude as Barcelona. I'm also going to Tbilisi in Georgia, which will probably be even colder.

anyone see the Pellegrini interview after the game? Seems he thought they needed to win by 3 and not 2 and thats why he did not put Agüero on? Crazy times.

I very rarely bet on European football - even rarer I bet in the group stages

But I couldn't resist 6/5 Man Utd tonight.

Worth Fred having £40 Keith?

Yes, no?

Sorry, was otherwise engaged.

I had 1/5th of the stake I had on Derby, so it was a recommend, it would have been for a cockle.

Just thought they had drifted far enough, but the play of the game suggests the price was right and I was wrong.

Maybe I'll back a lucky winner for once.

Thanks Keith, the Pension Fund had a good day.

9.9 on the Tighty Geek Scale, incredible.

Is there one for Las Vegas in June?

Tighty,

Those FGS bets last night, they are all a bit fiddly admin-wise, & I was otherwise engaged last night, but I've processed all of them, including returns, on the BETS thread.
